I have disabled all addons - which is probably going to limit how I play the game. But in any case, still getting a ton of LUA errors, and they’re all on Blizzard’s end. There’s world quests in Shadowlands that you can’t even tell what they are because mousing over them gives you a LUA error. Having a conduit in your bag may mean YOUR ENTIRE BAG IS UNUSABLE. Nice job, guys.
You may have the most up to date add-ons, but that doesn’t mean those add-ons have been updated for the latest version. It’s a developer issue.
For me, the big issue was Details. I disabled that, and all my errors went away - of course I’m using very few add-ons.
/run local e=GetCVar(“ScriptErrors”); if e==“1” then SetCVar(“ScriptErrors”, “0”); print(“Show LUA Errors: OFF”); else SetCVar(“ScriptErrors”, “1”); print(“Show LUA Errors: ON”); end
Really… 1 year later. ![]()
This doesn’t work anymore. I’m getting 36 errors when I mouse-over a piece of equipment I’m wearing and the tooltip pops up. But it’s not slowing down the game and I just want to ignore it and see what the broken tooltip actually looks like. Any way to do this?
I hate to even suggest this with all the addon hate going on, but oh well
Get bug sack addon, it will whisk them away into a sack on your minimap
This partially works, it stops the LUA frames, but the “This could be slowing your game down “ignore” button with the incessant clicks is still there. But this will do for now. thanks.
As it turns out the problematic tool-tip just doesn’t load at all all. So back to turning off add-ons one at a time.
Thanks. It honestly never even occured to me that someone would think to make an addon for this.
Bugsack/BugGrabber are decent tools to catch LUA errors till you’re ready to look at them. Also helpful for debugging addons.
Looks like the main culprit right now is Pawn. Which is nice for gteting a rough idea of what gear to keep but not essential, so I’ve turned it off.
I actually use VERY FEW addons regularly. And they’re mostly utilitarian:
-
Battle Pet Breed ID to pick pets for battles.
-
TSM to track sales and get regional average sale prices and track inventory
-
Details damage meter to test talent changes
-
tom tom for finding stuff
-
Decursive when I have to help dispel as a dps.
-
Wowhead looter
There are a few things I used intermittently but not all the time. I’ll use GTFO if I’m having trouble seeing the floor in a specifc situation otherwise it’s off. I use gathermate to map resources, I find this a fun pastime so I can remember where weird nodes like Titanium are, but is also off most of the time. Sometimes DBM until know the fight. And I load candy buckets around certain holidays and remove it the rest of the time.
That’s it!
