How do i activate chromie time?

made my new main did exiles reach but it’s forcing me into BfA content. i already have like 2 lvl 50’s and quite a few 40’s but this toon was the first one i logged into since pre patch started.

any help? i really dont want to do Zandalari stuff

You have to do the BFA intro until the portals are setup and then you can come back and do chromie time.

I hit this last night and found this thread in the bug forum:

(edit- we’ve gotten this issue fixed!) My wife and i are unable to activate Chromie Time on characters that just finished the Exile’s Reach starting zone. At lvl 10 after wrapping up the intro to Orgrimmar questline and receiving the tie-in for BFA, we tried talking to Chromie, but she says we have to finish what we’re doing in Zandalar first. When you hit SW from Exile’s Reach. DO NOT ACCEPT ANY QUESTS. Go directly to Chromie.

If you accept the quest to see the King you will be tracked into BfA content. At that point you can either:

• Quest through BfA until you get “Come Sail Away”, then portal back to SW.
• Portal to another capital city. You will get the “You are leaving the Tutorial” dialog. Accept and portal. Then portal back to SW.

Either of those two things should get you to the point of being able to select an expansion from Chromie.

Thanks for the tip. But where is Chromie? There were all kinds of bugs with the flashing help. It wouldn’t turn off after performing the action. Over all, this is the worst newbie experience I have had in gaming ever.

Chromie is located in the Embassy area of both factions.

There is an alternate way to activate Chromie Time.
After you leave Exile’s Reach and get to your Capital City, turn in the first quest. You will have a dialoge option with that NPC to exit the tutorial. Do so, then go find the Hero’s Board and click on it. The first quest on there will be to find Chromie, Accept it, and be on your way to fun and adventure!!!

after i did open the portal which literally takes like 5minutes max more like 1-2 tbh but then you take the portal to org/SW and open your map it will show a big hour glass icon.

There should be a skip option when you first arrive in your side’s capital city. For alliance it’s when you talk to Captain Garrick at the gates of Stormwind after zoning in from exile’s reach. Horde I think it’s the same setup.

i think i took the quest just to be safe but i seen there was a skip towards the very end before i went to zandalar was just very confusing because i was looking at the wowhead guide and it didn’t say anything about the portal room thing but did it because yea it was very quick

Here I am in 2023 and I can’t get Chromie to activate. I have tried doing everything on this page both with a new alt on a new server, with a new alt on an old server and can’t get Chromie to activate. Help me please.

i think you need 1 character on your account that is X level to activate it. in SL it was level 60 i think but now since DF is out might have changed to level 70.
