I feel like there should be basic trainers in Stormwind too?
If not, there should be some in Goldshire. Just ask a guard there for directions.
Your spellbook has a professions tab where you can click the profession window open (and/or drag it to an action bar).
thanks
edit- also turns out “classic” leatherworking (in the context of the new t3 recipes) is actually cataclysm LW, which yep is trainable in SW and goldshire
Does this mean that the patterns that require “classic leatherworking” like Big Voodoo Cloak and Mask are unusable?
Select “classic” from the dropdown menu on the crafting UI.
Dragon Isles is selected by default.
(yes I know I’m replying to a necro)
One of those thing I hated about retail… the profession chart is very confusing and each time you enter the trainer area. they want you to learn other patterns that I don’t want. Let me finish the first group first then I’ll move on. But if all you’re getting is patterns for cataclysm… that means you’ve already learn all those other patterns in a previous area. However if it’s not there try locating what these patterns are or what creatures they drop from. If you’re talking about classic, then you have to learn lessor patterns from one of the other trainers, there should be 2 or 3 trainers in the leathershop.
For instance, the big voodoo cloak is a drop item so it wouldn’t be available at the leather trainer’s shop or inventory, you’ll have to find it
If you’re having trouble locating a trainer, I recommend asking a guard who will put an X on your map where they are located. The leatherworking trainer in Stormwind is located in the Old Town area. It’s true that the Classic/Vanilla trainers are the same as the Cataclysm trainers. You want to toggle your profession spellbook to Classic, and you should see a list of recipes to start crafting. As you level, more recipes will be available from the trainer, and there will be others you can purchase from the vendor standing next to him or from other vendors throughout the world. You can also get them as drops from content, but you can max out your Classic/Vanilla leatherworking just from the recipes there at the shop in Old Town.
