I’ve been a tank/DPS my entire time playing this game and I decided “hey, I should roll a druid and try out some healing”.
I feel more like a tank than I ever did when actually playing a tank. Like wtf?

What about it makes you feel like a tank?
We typically quickly move out of that range of content tbh
Well, when the DH tank doesn’t keep aggro over my HoTs when attacking a boss, that’s attacking me. I feel pretty much like a tank. Yeah.
As it turns out, being chill with a lot of things makes healing, especially while leveling, a cakewalk.
You’d be very surprised by how smoothly things go when you go with the flow.
my brain short circuits when i heal sometimes it gives me a lot of anxiety
ah. meaning you are pulling healer aggro.
lol that reminds me of “wait for sunders” and that fear of letting the tank exist before jumping in. y’all remember that stuff?
Ok… wasn’t sure the context so thanks for clarifying I guess.
That almost never happens
How many dungeons have you healed, and at what level?
man, IDK. My druid is level 30 doing timewalking and it’s happened more than I want to admit.
currently level 32 and i’ve healed like 20 dungeons or so? (mostly in LFG)
It’s time walking, not real content. Just don’t heal
Really?
And you’re already blowing a gasket.
You are no healer, I’d stick to tanking.
Step 1, dont prehot the tank. Instead use externals while they are collecting trash together.
For example, cen ward or iron bark the tank while they pull all the packs together. During this time the tank takes the most damage (most mobs alive) and giving the tank a damage reduction lets them gather things and settle before they have to use thier own.
Healing aggro is universal, meaning that once you heal 1 point of damage, all mobs in combat gain a little bit of threate on them. You dont have to be attaxking something to pull threate.
Use this to your advantage, if the tank is body pulling and you have to heal someone, stand next to the tank. Being near the tank at the start of a pull means as you heal, you gain threate on adds and they all come rushing to the tank. Once the tank established threate on everything, then walk away from the pack back to range.
Just oay attention to casters, as ungrouped casters will target you if no one else is gettting threate on them. Los or kick thier casts to pull them to the tank.
Edit: nevermind, low level stuff
I actually find it hilarious and kinda sad. Pulling aggro via healing on a boss mob that the tank is actively attacking… kinda wild imho.
I’d hate to see what kind of nonsense happens in higher level content.
Scaling + overhealing when unnecessary. Throw up 2 HoTs and just DPS lik everyone does in every other leveling dungeon
In higher level stuff, you just clump near the tank on pull. Adds run at you, tank picks them up. Easy peasy.
Healing threate isnt an issue the higher you go
Edit
For low level stuff. Just stand on tanks butt. If they are a zoomy tank, run forward first. If there are only 1 or 2 mobs left on a pull, just run forward for the zoomy tank
Doing Timewalking… there’s your problem. Level scaling in Timewalking is awful… You’ll never pull threat off a L10 twink-tank and they will leave you and everyone else in the party in the dust as they fly off at top-speed to solo the dungeon (they’re invulnerable due to scaling issues in time-walking). However, a L80 tank, even in decent gear, can easily lose threat to chracters that are L70 and below…
As @Kaelas said, “it’s time walking, not real content. Just don’t heal” Maybe if someone’s below 30% health sure top them off, but otherwise just run along with the tank who’s probably killing everything with higher damage per second than those in the DPS role & spec.
If you have an issue with current-content dungeons, come back and let us know, but time-walking is busted beyond recognition… weirdness in there is the norm; just gotta adapt (so don’t heal or you’ll rip aggro).
I wish there were more level 10/11 but it’s mostly been level 80s in there doing the weekly. I’ve mostly just been going into owlkin and using rejuv every now and then, except when i grab aggro and have to keep myself alive =\
I guess it really just depends on what content you’re playing. I was maining resto druid for much of this season and it just doesn’t happen in M+ unless you hot up the tank as he’s trying to gather/pull… which you shouldn’t do.
