Is your rank based off your total win / loss ratio?
I’m new to pvp and I’d like to practice and work toward that sweet sweet spider mount. Skirmishes seem like I’m just getting demolished more often than not. If I step into rated arena to practice within a bracket and farm conquest - and end up racking up a ton of loss over the 1k rating is that something I’m going to have to overcome down the road if trying to reach 1400?
no u can get 1000 losses in a row, but if u win the next 200 straight u can get glad

Oh, that’ll take the pressure off while learning the ropes. Thank you.
Win/Loss ratios don’t mean much. You can be 1:1 and still be 2400. You can also be 1:1 and be 1200. The key is beating the higher teams you queue against and doing it consistently. If you lose multiple games in a row, your hidden MMR drops quickly. Same goes for moving up though. If you consistently beat teams with a higher MMR then you, you’ll keep going up despite the fact you’re only winning every other game.

No, your rank is based upon what class you chose to level and play. Some classes are given gladiator rank for free upon hitting max level. Others are given duelist, and casters are given rival or challenger participation trophies for trying to survive in a melee biased game.
