How difficult is ICC?

Tbf retail has the same issue. Last time I seriously raided was shadowlands and castle nathria had red on red on red telegraphs. They did fix it kind of quick though.

ICC normal is easier than Ulduar normal. If you can do normal Ulduar with no issue then ICC is going to be a breeze.

The hardest fight in ICC is 25H LK.
The other fights have a challenge to them, but normals are easier all around compared to Ulduar.

If they don’t gate the wings the place is going to be cleared on normal in under a week. Which I guess isn’t bad tbh.

Defile. Watch the dumb dumbs stand in Defile and wipe the raid.

I don’t remember, but based on my original characters’ achievements from back then, it can’t be that bad. My characters from back then have H Lich King credit, but not even regular Yogg, lmao (though I may have joined a better guild later in the xpac, idk. been forever).

The numbers that paragon did on their original 5% LK kill seem very high compared to what we are currently capable of, their ret for example has a shadowmourne so he is doing 13k dps and they barely make the dps check, it could be challenging indeed

Almost anyone can do 10m when you get the buff up to 30%

Easier than heroic Ulduar, harder than pre-nerf SSC/TK. Somewhere around Sunwell I guess, but longer.

It was very doable at the end with the 30% buff. I was in a very casusal guild. Some of my guildies, including my own brother were defintely below average player. We all were able to not only clear it, but also get the achievent that gives u the big skeleton dragon flying mount.

But its been so long, if they didnt remove the acievment after wotlk, then maybe we went back in cata to get it. But the 30% buff for sure made the entire raid much easier.

10 man was cleared in a day…most mid core guilds are doing more dps now than they were in ICC.

The last wing of the final raid encounter of [Wrath of The Lich King]opened up only yesterday for World of Warcraft players. One day was all it took for the world’s top guilds to rip through the content and kill the Lich King on the easiest level, normal 10-man. The trophy for world first kill goes to [Blood Legion]a Horde guild on the U.S. Illidan server.

That’s w Shadowmourne…trying to think how much movement and down time there is on that fight. Our 2 top rets are hitting 11-15k right now on certain fights w 245-252 weapons and 242-244 item levels. We are Def mid-core, purple parsers…w a few oranges and some blues here and there. Top guilds will smash it.

2009 WOLTK was 100x more difficult than what we have in classic. non stop balance changes to classes, Ulduar in OG wrath was wayy harder than classic, ICC was pretty difficult in 25 man heroic

but blizzard makes everything so easy in classic, people will go into icc in full phase 3 bis and speed clear everything.

No it wasnt they legit nerfed the version we have in a week back in wotlk.

Isn’t that like a 8+ minute fight?

It’s not that hard… The roadblocks being the end of wing bosses. LK was a different story, he was tough even on normal when a single defile dropped in the wrong place meant a wipe.

Really? It’s been a while since I raided mythic, but hate a lot of Classic mechanics for how poorly they’re telegraphed compared to retail.

They were quick enough to change it, but those first two weeks were brutal. It just makes no sense. Like they don’t test it or something because it was a very obvious issue.

You can’t say one thing is harder than another just by looking at the difficulty of one of those items. You have to compare both.

Yogg 0 originally was killed for the first time after about 3 months of Ulduar. Everything was available on release.

H Lich King was killed after about 4.5 months of ICC. However, heroic mode was only out for about 1.5 months of that, and attempts were limited pretty substantially in the beginning. The 5% buff did play a factor, of course.

For sure. Im only pointing out that it had to be nerfed before it was killed.

Dont forget the effect of gear. Ppl cleared ulduar with ulduar gear. Ppl needed icc normal gear to clear icc. I know, assuming the raid was tuned for the proper gear they should be comparable.

Which is why i was against the decision in classic to buff the ulduar gear. It has done nothing imo other than nerf the uldar raid. Now if they had done the original plan and nerd togc gear, it would have made icc even harder than original.
