So, every expansison is the same thing for me. Level a couple of alts, play a little bit, get bored of my class/find something I really don’t like about it, switch class.
I keep struggling to find something that feels right, for an example, I love plate armor, in every game I play, heavy armor are always my favorite and they always look the coolest, WoW is no exception.
When I look at the plate classes, however, Warrior feels more like a barbarian on all three specs, a fantasy I am not a huge fan of, Paladins have a decent fantasy but I hate how the class is represented in game with all the weapons summoning and they are slow as hell, while DKs is just overall not my cup of tea.
Then there is Demon Hunter, I like the class, but the lore and customizations just end up getting on my nerve, especially now that you can choose the eye colors, playing either of the Hero classes feels lacking in a way, but that’s a completely personal gripe.
TL;DR - What made you fall in love if you class? I always struggle to find one that I enjoy.

The most important criteria for me is that i need to be on a class that can play independently in pvp. I need to be able to survive being attacked but i also need to be able to kill the attacker. Holy pally and holy priest meet that criteria and i’ve never been able to play another class since cata

My very first character was a Night Elf Hunter - Beast Master spec. I now have 4 I play - night elf, void elf, vulpera and nightborne - one in each covenant. I’ve played all the other classes, at the end of legion, I had one of every class at max level, but I always end up going back to BM Hunter. It’s not the best dps, but I do alright, I’m not trying to do mythics or raiding anything other than LFR.
I love taming new pets, that’s the biggest attraction. With the extra pet talent, I feel like a one person army. It’s relatively easy to figure out the rotation, and I don’t feel overwhemled trying to manage CDs. My one wish is they’d give us back the ability to change a pet’s spec, I prefer to use ferocity pets, but lately the pets I REALLY want are all cunning, which to me is the most useless.

Once I realized that as an arcane mage, I could kill stuff with just one button, I knew instantly that I never needed to play anything else.
Capability in pvp and pve. If one or two people attack me in the world I want to be able to kill them both. I also love utility and looking super cool, so my main has always been dk or hunter. I’m a mage now for viability in mythic raiding.
I’ve always liked the light armored mobile melee types. So by MoP I was deciding between a rogue and a monk. Loved the lore and fantasy of both, but monk won because it was so much more defensible and self-sufficient in the world. And we were a touch broken, I could pull half the zone and just annihilate it.
And I’ve just stuck with it ever since. I still enjoy the playstyle, but also the character herself. Whereas rogues have fallen behind as time went on.
So pretty much find one who’s playstyle you enjoy most and has a lore/theme you can even somewhat get behind. It doesn’t have to be perfect, but usually you can try a pro/con list and figure out which one you keep getting drawn back to. Warrior sounds like potentially a thing for you. Do you at least like the way they play? There’s a thousand ways to RP one besides barbarian-ish.
For me it’s the class lore and how it feels to me when I’m playing it. If it feels weird then I will eventually stop playing it.
Shaman is one of the few where at first it felt weird but down the line I enjoyed it. At first it feels slow but as I got more haste and stats it felt smoother.
Boomkin is the same way that’s why I’m trying it again. Leveling a druid but as resto atm
I havent. I keep rolling new ones and then stop leveling them around 55 and repeating that process.
I forget what toon I was on. But I just remember walking around stormwind and I saw a warlock on their dreadsteed. The black and red burning crusade tier set.
I was so inspired I made this very toon

I found a class that has one spec that’s always good which I hate playing (Affliction) and two lesser specs that can sometimes but good that I actually enjoy.
Honestly I don’t know why I do this to myself.

Some people can play one class/spec and be happy with it. I cannot. I get bored playing the same class. That is why I have 12 toons, all different classes and thank goodness that it isn’t like legion where you had an artifact weapon to fill with AP or you got way behind if you didn’t play a toon for a while.
There is some classes I play more than others: Warrior. Mage. Rogue. Priest.
All play very different than the others. Notice that none of them are “hybrid” classes either.
Friend, allow me to introduce you to a little thing called…MURDER OF CROWS!! It’s the only ability with murder right there in the name…

Well, Execute is pretty straight-no-chaser, too

I’ve mained rogue since vanilla. In every rpg I play if there’s a rogue type class I always choose that. I like stealth, light armor, and daggers. I haven’t been playing SL much cause I’m not a fan of the direction the game is going but I’ve been playing a ton on my Nightblade in ESO.
I was near black rook hold one time and a mob ran at me yelling “Eat crow!” so I went “well if you insist…” proceed with Murder of Crows XD.
So, what you’re saying is you winged it with your response?

Chose mage cause they seem to always be buffed and at the top of raiding most times. So why not?
The right class for me only ever seems to be the right class for about 2 months.
I actually think it’s designed this way now. In BFA, I rotated through every class and geared them all and played them at reasonably high levels. Blizz got a lot of money off me from buying lvl boosts and tokens etc. So why wouldn’t they design it so that people rotate through, buying services as they go?
I decided that after I had been playing my Hunter for a long time and the other classes I had leveled was Warlock and Death Knight I decided one day that I wanted to try a healer for the first time. Watching other people play their healers I decided on Priest. I got all the way to 85 (this was in Cata) just healing dungeons cus I was having so much fun. Then when Mop came around and I healed my first Lfr I dropped my Hunter in favor of the Priest and ever since this character has been my main! I found out I liked healing more than dps and eventually I tried every healing class but Priest stuck as my favorite! Holy is my favorite healer because it has good single target good aoe mass dispel is very good. Emergency heals a knock back talent I love mind crontrol levitate. The whole overall class in general just has a lot of stuff I love! You just gotta find which one you enjoy playing the most
Eh, I guess I just gel with my cow here. We’ve done lots of stupid things together so I’m pretty attached; even when its not a good spec, I just can’t give up.
I don’t like moving slow- cat or deer at all times. I don’t wanna die- yay for being pretty solid in meh gear. Lazy- so go go flight form interactables. Annnd I’m terrible at stuff so… stealth. Also terrible at pvp so… stealth.
I enjoy my alts and perhaps I enjoy other specs more than my druid but I enjoy this druid telling me he’s out of range or he can’t do that or whatever… So I guess familiarity and a healthy dose of cheap?
