How did you die?

Fun little Roleplay question for you all today. How did you die and become a DK in the first place?

For Dosillathy, she was part of a caravan delivering supplies to Light’s Hope Chapel in the weeks leading up to WotLK. Her caravan was ambushed by the Scourge at Corin’s Crossing, and all the members of the caravan were killed. Most were just raised as ghouls, but a select few, including Dosillathy, were brought back to Acherus and made into Death Knights.

I stood in the fire for the haste buff.
Clearly a healing issue.

Expect a lot of that kind of trolling, as this isn’t an RP forum.

For my primary DK he was a sandfury priest of Mueh’zala who volunteered to be a sacrifice, in the days before the Horde and Alliance decimated Zul’farrak and what remained of the sand troll civilization. In the scourge invasion days leading up to Wrath, scourge agents retrieved promising bodies for Death Knight recruits, and troll mummies were sort of low hanging fruit.

I’ve always thought Beiji would have been a member of the Golden Lotus and died when Garrosh was doing all his shenanigans.

I’ve not put a lot of thought into it as I don’t play on an RP server, but that was a large part of my reasoning for an Alliance Pandaren DK.

It’s okay if there’s troll responses, sometimes they can be funny. I was just curious if anyone else had put thought into it

For some reason I can’t change my character, so posting for my DK:

Darkglare (Putrescence Darkglare) was once a Lordaeronian priestess, that got killed by the Scourge. Her body, alongside with many other clergy members, were taken into the slaughterworks of Stratholme and the necromancers there managed to use her head but also the limbs of several different priests and priestesses to stitch together a Blood Death Knight.

That’s why I roleplay Darkglare with the appearance of a completely mismatched human, with parts of several different people that doesn’t necessarily match. So you get disproportional limbs, etc.

For this girl, I like to think that maybe she was a paladin like her “older brother” Joshavia ( my main character), and when Arthas came sweeping through Silvermoon and falcon wing square, she was holding the line against the oncoming scourge. As she fought on, she noticed that her brother was being overwhelmed and was about to be cut down. In an effort to save him, she threw him a divine shield but in the process was mortally pierced in through back by a servant of The Lich King.

As she laid there “dying” she could only think that she saved her brother from certain doom. Little would she know that her skills in battle had not gone unnoticed, and so therefore, would be raised as a Death knight in service to The Lich King.

Needless to say, Joshavia mourned her loss and put down his sword for a time. He grew angry and was filed once again with the holy Light and he vowed retribution to the Lich King for the murdering of his sister.

Then an unforeseen opportunity came, he stumbled into his little sister in Ice Crown seeing that she had rebelled against her king. The two were reunited as family, albeit it took a long time for Joshavia to grasp what had been done to her. They now stand alongside one another in life and in undeath protecting their home from threats foreign and domestic.

Myrikii died defending her caravan from a 7th Legion attack during the Fourth War. She was brought back as a death knight by Bolvar consistent with the ARDK starting quests.

Ezra Crack was an herbalist in the small village of Brill. When Arthas betrayed his country and succumbed to the whispers of the Lich King through Frostmourne, he commanded the Scourge to swiftly devastate the surrounding lands of Lordareon.

Never shirking from a fight, Crack picked up a sword and fended off the Scourge for as long as she could but ultimately fell. She was raised as an Undead, pledging service to the Forsaken and the great Banshee Queen, Sylvanas WIndrunner. Promising revenge on those who had decimated the old life that she will never get back.

Deep in enemy territory, Ezra Crack fell once again while assaulting the horrors in Naxxramas(hovering above Plaguewood at the time, classic era). Before Kel’Thuzad was defeated and control of the Scourge in Naxxramas was lost, her body was shadowed away to Acherus to be raised once again, however this time it would be in service to the Lich King.

I was also a Paladin defending Silvermoon. But was betrayed when one of the city defenders stabbed me in the back. I looked down to see his sword sticking out of my chest. Falling to the ground after he had removed his sword I watched as one of the other paladins took his head in a single blow for his betrayal.

That was the last of my memories until I awoke a death knight. And was sent in to the hut to kill the paladin that avenged me.

I really liked how the holy paladin in the death knight announcement video died, even if the animation is pretty bad now.

No one knows, the lore of how my exact character died doesn’t exist in the game.

I was a Frost Mage back then when I died somewhere and nobody bothered to ress me. Until daddy Arthas came to me. Suddenly I was back again. I noticed I could harness the Frost powers again (but in a more deadly way) and I thought “well, convenient”.

I sold my soul for power. I regret nothing.
