How did you come up with your WOW name?

All of my characters are thematically named.

I’m named after my favorite jewelry store.

Mursh was a name I created back when I played EQOA. It was my Ogre Warrior’s name.
To get it I messed around with random names and moved and removed letters
until I came up with Mursh.

Mursh was the first character I created the day I started playing.
Odd thing was, I thought I was being creative with a unusual name.
I looked in the armory once, and found that there were 50 characters named
Mursh in the game.

My kid brought me their Flintstone Vitamins while I was making my first Dark Iron… The rest is history.

I was making a nazgul character, hence the mog.

I Wanted TheWitchKing

It was taken. So I crossed it off, and chose the next edgiest name.

I’m a shaman and a cow, but Shamcow was taken so it’s Shamcao

I believe it’s a random modified name, or just random.

I was asked to reroll a priest for Molten Core progression, I chose Annora because it means honor and that seemed fitting.

He’s a ‘hunter’ in the show. I like to play WoW. I’m a fan (obviously).
When I saw I had the options to make my character look relatively the same. It was kismet.

Was Carnage on a low pop realm, obviously not available when I transfered. I asked GD what I should name myself and this was the better choice. It’s derived from the german word for dusk, abend.

The only Naruto name that wasn’t taken lmao

Most of my characters are named after Disney characters. My Hunter is Shenzi after the Lion king Hyena, my priest is Awnastasia after the Anastasia princess.

I’m pretty sure I made this guy in Cata then I deleted him then I brought him back, someone had taken the original spelling of his name, Caurmine, so I changed the C to a K. I tend to prefer real world names and not fantasy/weird/funny names.

I’m a word nerd. I break out the etymology dictionary and look up skills/talents/etc. specific to the character I’m creating.

For example, this girl’s name is a root of “cocoon,” from “Greek kokkos “berry, seed” (see [cocco-]).”

“Cocoon” because she heals; e.g., wraps players in a cocoon of heals.
