How did you all survive Shadowlands?!

I tried leveling an alt there… Okay. No Mounting in the Maw and most of the City Hub… Okay… Looked up Flying Mounting requirements which are insane. Then I looked at what it took to unlock a Covenant.

What.

The…

This Expansion looks pure evil!

I gave up and sat in Dungeon Queues til 60 then went to the Dragon Isles.

Sadly I have to go back and at least do Chapter 4 of Shadowlands on this character to get that Covenant story mount (From Building a Base) for my Transmog. Because for SOME REASON the Horde has limited mount options if you don’t want Edgy, Dirty, or Tribal if you aren’t a Paladin (Inferior to the Death Knight in every way).

I didnt play majority of it. Tried to level my new main there it wad boring af and slow. Left after doing a few quests in bastion.

I went at lv 10 and dont have flying so madr no sense to stat tbh.

I just mind my own business and slow down my playtime and try not to burn myself out.

It was the only WoW expansion where I actually stopped playing for very long stretches of time. I played some of classic BC and Wrath stuff for months instead.

Dungeons were pretty fun and unique.

If you did m+ in SL you probably had a blast.

Revendreth was amazing. The rest, however…

I gave it a good honest try. Paying real money to get my legendary leather piece was a huge knock. And then when I finally grinded out enough for a second legendary and crafted it, I found that it doesn’t work that way, I can’t have two legendaries. So I did it wrong and all those torghast runs I hated doing were a waste.

Stopped playing there. Plus my buddy never got into which I hoped he would.

It was a mistake disabling threads of fate. Such a mistake

It wasn’t that bad if you were playing the whole time and did the quests as they came along. I mean, the no flying was as annoying as always, held hostage to Ion’s ego, but if you played along as the stuff opened up, getting flying and mounting in the maw came pretty easily. Now, I’d recommend just leveling past it and not bothering.

Revendreth was a cool concept. Mob density was annoying, and it could be annoying to navigate. A lot of verticality.

The requirements were basically handouts.

At least the elevators were well placed so it wasn’t too bad. I had less trouble getting around in Revendreth than Bastion tbh.

But I mostly meant that Revendreth was a beautiful zone with amazing music (hello Grant Kirkhope), if you like that kind of aesthetic. Wasn’t really a fan of the other three. Maldraxxus was like Hellfire Peninsula 2.0, Bastion was generic with a lot of cliffs that were annoying to navigate, and Ardenweald was really pretty when you first get there, but then you realise it’s just full of worms and drust. And the maw… lol.

Well I bought shadowlands and was enjoying it today on my monk. I really liked bastion area very beautiful. Sadly as I was finishing bastion I hit 60 and blizzard decided to force me off the shadowlands timeline and straight into dragon isles. I even had a chromie countdown timer of 30 seconds right in middle of a shadowlands storyline quest I was forced off and forced into doing dragon isles. I bought both EP’s and wanted to do shadowlands before dragon isles but guess that’ isn’t a option.

I also really enjoyed shadowlands dungeons and trying to get hang of them but guess that isn’t option anymore, chromie will only let me do dragon isles even tho I have completed waking shore and some in the plains. Really annoyed over it so I will prob cancel my sub and wait until its patched. If I could refund DF I would gladly do it.

Yea Bastion is nice at first but it get’s old quick. Zones are unnecessarily big these days.

It was horrible

The secret was not having any fun or enjoyment and just play as if I was forced to like an addict, which was pretty easy considering the expansion wasn’t fun at all.

I did quit for like 1/3 of the expansion though.

I quit just after getting curve is Castle Nathria. Didn’t come back until about a month before DF.

I played FFXIV, which was an interesting diversion until I hit end game, then it sucked. But that was just in time for DF to release, so it all worked out!

wow you thought the flying mount requirements of SL were insane? lol

Same thing i do every expansion. I ran a bunch of M+ , leveled and geared alts, did raids with my guild and taught myself how to PvP on three different classes. I also grinded out a bunch of mounts and transmogs
