How did people traverse blade's edge?

Used the paths?

I thought it was a lot of fun back then. I enjoyed finding the pathways in and out and around.

Oh yeah that little nook over there with arrakoas? More than likely the quests had turn green/gray and I moved on to another zone and finished it with a flying mount. You say the tunnel is full of mobs also? I do not remember if there’s a lot of back and forth to Ruan Weald but if so more then likely I came back after getting flight.

I started playing in TBC and I don’t think I unlocked flying during that time, only in Wrath.
I don’t remember questing in the northern zones of Outland.
I rode a blood elf ostrich everywhere.

:o I did not know about that but now I must have it, thank you!

Back in the day you could do Zangarmarsh then go south into Terrokar and then either west to Nagrand or east to Shadowmoon Valley. If you were doing every quest and sprinkling in a few dungeon runs, you would be 70 and ready for your first flying mount long before you ever had to step foot into Blades Edge. Blades Edge was so horribly designed, especially for Horde, that the vast majority of people I knew just skipped it entirely and went to Netherstorm. The only thing interesting there anyway was the Alliance side town and quest chains that were just a big Starship Troopers parody.

there is a lot of back and forth.

It’s a documented fact that MMOs are designed to get people addicted. Whether it’s ultimately the player’s choice to play or not, it’s still toxic and predatory by design.

And speaking of toxic and predatory-

Unless they’re loot boxes.

Agreed. That should legit be illegal. And in China it already is. Hopefully the West will follow suit.

I don’t understand how gambling money for maybe money can be illegal almost everywhere and strictly regulated, but gambling money for maybe cash shop items can be a total free-for-all.

Don’t count on it being regulated as gambling in the US. Other developed countries have more of a chance.

wow what happened to my topic. this was just a wholesome question about blades edge.

I’m sure there are. There are people who have ruined their lives over games.

Eh, it’s their life to ruin. People try to take alcohol away from me under the false pretense of “helping” me but that doesn’t mean they have the right to make that choice for me.

Yeah, I couldn’t care less if they ruin their lives over a game. It’s not my life being ruined.

Agreed. People should live the way they want to live. If someone wants to live a good life then they should, if they want to live a bad life then have at it.

I am working thru Blade’s Edge on my level 20 gnome rogue and enjoying the added immersion and challenge of no flying.

Makes you see and appreciate so much more of the zone.

Or we just played druid and had flying at lvl 68 cause travelling by foot is for peasants.

Blade’s Edge had that old ‘were going to make you zig zag and spend time’ vibe still going.

Ah yes. 175 quests of dailies a week. Why is that better than what we have going now, where you have a few days between the WQ reset?

5min/quest would put that at over 2 hours of daily quests a day.

It’s also documented that players should be responsible and limit their game time. Should Blizzard develop a less fun game just because Sally isn’t responsible enough to limit her gametime?

Do you use the same logic for alcoholics or gambling addicts?

That’s a long time ago but I remember only getting the cheapest flying skill. I personally didn’t have any problems with the zone layouts etc but it was a different time.
