How common will rogues be?

Looking to do lots of wpvp but dont really want to play a super common class. Will rogues be very common? If so i will probably play lock or spriest.

Ever seen the video from the vanilla days?

Its called “Thats the world of warcraft that you play”

One verse is “Half of your server will be composed of rogues who rolled their class to be cheap”

Everyone remembers how strong they were in wpvp/ganking scenarios. Everyone remembers being stun-locked from 100% to death. And I remember doing pretty good dps in raids/dungeons as long as you kept your poisons applied and slice and dice up 100% of the time. I am going to assume rogue will be one of the most popular classes by far.

They’ll be pretty common and in demand. If you want to be unique and powerful in wPvP, I recommend Dwarf or Undead Shadow Priest.

Will be going ally so probably dwarf spriest.

Murlocs will say there are too many rogues.

Back in the before times we joked that the game was “World of Roguecraft” - then someone made a video series of the same name where they used a worn dagger and grey no-stat armor and commenced to kill rank 14 players… That was when the floodgates truly opened.

I’m sure it’ll be in the top 3 most played along with warrior and mage or real close to it.

There will be a lot of people playing every class. The way to stand out is by being better at that class than other people playing it.

For what it’s worth, you still might have an easier time finding a guild as a Rogue than a Shadow Priest. Shadow Priests are usually get 1 slot in a guild if they choose to run a Shadow Priest. You can run over 6 Rogues in a raid comp and be fine.

The worst part will be gearing through dungeons, as it will be saturated with melee all trying to get the same items.

I believe rogues will have a decent percentage.

Ppl have this idea rogues are all that in WPvP.

It’s really not. All depends on the player.

Now most dangerous class in WPvP would be the Hunter. They can track you and they are not really gear dependent. This class can see you before you even know it. You can be on the other side of a hill and he is wondering if he/she should kill you.

Next it will be frost mage or lock.
These two classes will have distances on their side and will most likely be by flight points or in the back free casting on large scale PvP out breaks.

A two handed warrior.
Target: Anyone he can get first blow on. If he is accompanied by a healer, the threat is high he/she will attack you.

Finally the rogue. The target of a rogue is a mage(arch nemesis, kinda keeps mages in check), low lvl players, noobs, and anyone with about 3 mobs on them. - that is one rogue.
If you happen to see skeletons a few rogues are probably in the area. Rogues are very dangerous in numbers. If you have 2 or more rogues that elevates the threat to a hunter type threat and most likely will be attacked. I would suggest get out of there.

According to private server data, which is likely to be very accurate seeing as the sample size was around ~15,000 or so, the population of level 60s on both factions will contain around ~15% rogues.

They’ll be the 2nd or 3rd most common class at 60. They’ll be just about tied with warriors with mages being the most popular class at 60.

Troll shadow priest is heavily underrated in PvP. Shadowguard > Devouring Plague with blackout taken into consideration.

What do you mean? It was common even back then

Like all other classes. It was always an even spread.

Best class to blow cooldowns to 100->0 everyone.

Except for druids. Druids will be noticably scarce. We’re talking 4 mages to every druid, or 3 rogues, or 3 warriors, or 2 of just about any other class.

I know druids will probably end up being the least played. They were in the original vanilla, and they were on pservers.

I think we might see more druids than people expect though. There are a lot of retail players coming into classic that never played vanilla or pservers, and druid is one of the most popular retail classes. I’ve seen a lot of threads popping up about druids. Several today even.

Are there ever going to be more druids than mages? Not even close. But there might be more druids than paladins on alliance side. That could maybe happen. We shall see.
