It’s always been possible in exceptional circumstances.
It would be enlightening (or at least amusing) to know how you did it.
The fatigue system isn’t just there to be a nuisance. It’s there to stop you from causing problems by getting too far outside of the mapped game world. If you were allowed to keep “corpse hopping” to get further outside of the fatigue area, it wouldn’t serve its intended purpose.
So, yes, it can and will “kill” you while you’re dead. This is by design.
Haha, yep, I swam out too far, died, and got fatigued before reaching my body in the middle of the sea before, it happens.
