Sure, until you change them and a different crowd comes out of the woodwork to complain the that the changes are bad.
When a company uses their testing grounds for marketing vs testing and fails to actually listen to the community, that is what happens. Don’t blame the customers when you don’t actually listen to them.
I mean our characters don’t typically emote unless we make them. Kind of a weird criticism, when this is a cartoony, goofy game that repeatedly makes references to the real world and laughs at itself constantly.
I’m more annoyed playing FF and having the characters crack up over things that aren’t remotely funny.
No, that just means WoW caters to a diverse audience. What you aren’t understanding is that when they listen to one group, they are going against another group, its not very common everyone is on the same page. Some of the few issues i do see the community united was on Titanforging and Borrowed Power, but be careful to assume those people will agree with ALL of your suggestions.
Let me throw you a bone, i think blizzard should have another look at valor/justice vendors for some pieces of gear but not all.
It is because WoW caters to a divers audience that they need to listen to all groups. It doesn’t have to be this or that. And this is where the problem is. For example, I don’t think Blizzard should have created a machine for tier gear, however, two different parts of the community do, so them adding it has added value to the game for those people.
Blizzard can do the same in many other areas, but have not, or does not want to.
Maybe to you they aren’t funny, but to someone it is.
how far did you make it and what QOL fixes do you suggest?
The reason for the forums thing is, that their forums is more strict with such things. Ours isn’t. Troll posts are allowed to exist here for months despite being made to get reactions. And most FFXIV players - gasp- actually wanna play the game! not sit on forums all day. I met someone who keeps busy all the time and is insanely rich because thats what they love for example.
Hate to break it to you but if the WoW forums were using battletags like the other Blizzard forums, this forum would be in a similar situation. They can’t just swap characters over there and they have an actual moderation team that does their job lol.
Being active on the forums is also not really a good indicator of the quality of a game.
I for one spend more time on the forums than in game, because df is incredibly boring in my opinion. I haven’t even bothered to log in for the last 2 weeks and will take another break once my game time is over next week. ![]()
Because DF is boring. It’s not bad, but it’s bland and has no redeeming qualities over anything else out there.
It’s the greatest expansion ever that hardly anyone wants to actually play.
That’s cuz ultimately DF is just going to go through the same end game loop as before. They didn’t even give us a proper introduction from SL to DF so players are just left confused. Even moreso for new players who are forced into BFA, with NO FLYING, who are in a huge war then suddenly everyone’s at peace. So there goes any chance of hooking new players to the story.
WoW really needs to change its mindset (like removing Pathfinder and account wide rep for starters) and change how they design things since the new age gamers aren’t going to WoW. They’re going to other games while when an older player leaves they aren’t being replaced.
Honestly the add-ons and knowing dps and io ratings and gear scores have made wow toxic. Folks think cause they have a higher number, they are flat out better which is not always the case. Gatekeeping is a thing.
FF doesn’t have any of that. Just folks doing content which can be a fun experience as well.
I have played both and have said to folks who asked me these questions …if you want a challenge where to be the man, you gotta beat the man …then play wow.
If you are more into role playing or non serious content grinding…go FF
Why does it need to compete, weebs and cartoons can co exist
Cooperation is better than competition .
FF14 is fundamentally a different game from WoW and is more social oriented. This is why it managed to survive on its own compared to other MMOs who were specifically designed to compete against WoW.
GW2, SWTOR, and New World were hyped up to be “WoW” killers and flopped massively.
FFXIV’s dungeon are beyond horrible and boring. WoW dominates them in both raids and dungeons. So with your opinion on saying their “m+ system is better”, I would take WoW’s m+ any day/time since WoW has by far better dungeons.
Agree about button bloat. However FFXIV is just as bad if not worse too. I don’t get people’s obsession with needing sooo many abilities. One thing I think New World did good on was keeping it to 3 abilities per weapon and you equip 2 weapons. You can do normal/heavy attacks too. Although it is an aiming MMO so normal/heavy attacks wouldn’t really work in WoW/FFXIV. IIRC GW2 doesn’t have button bloat either and only has a few attacks. Might have changed as I haven’t played it in years but that was what I remember.
Wouldn’t even be an issue if some abilities were not simply just better versions of others. Some abilities are kinda redundant.
-
I have a shout that raises my health and heals a little…and another that raises the health of allies around me? Why not one button?
-
I have an AoE attack, and then I have Revenge. An AoE attack that is superior.
-
And then I have single target attack (lol okay buddy. You go sit in that spellbook) It doesn’t even do more damage than my Revenge.
And why do non heal Paladins still have Flash of light? Who uses that? Why are we pretending it;s a thing people use? It’s not even good for healing out of combat.
There is a lot of button bloat and it’s kinda crazy it wasn’t addressed in that stupid pruning. It’s like by “pruning” they actually meant “We are gonna remove tools you actually like and use often and leave you with stupid redundant spells”
Give us more to do in the game. There is SO much to do in FFXIV for every type of player. It’s way more limited in WoW.
WoW leans toward dungeons and raiding, outside of questing there isn’t much more. Professions are outdated due to only being able to do two on a character. I don’t want to have to have an army of alts just to craft blizz! There’s no housing, no reason to explore because there isn’t anything to find, etc.
Once you finish the story quests you aren’t left with a whole lot to choose from.
It has some appeal, but the main thing that WoW can never lose to FFXIV is the fact that you don’t have to wait for a gcd for every button. I couldn’t stand how slow it was to play FF, I couldn’t even make it past the leveling because I was so bored with the rotations and how long it took to do them.
I find it the opposite. I’m waiting on abilities in WoW with a lot of downtime. In FF my rotation is lightening fast.
And this is why I left Paladin (my favorite class in wow) behind.
That class needs serious rework man.
FF has no appeal to me. I have friends who play both and they come back to WoW for Endgame because they find M+ and raiding better.
Honestly if the servers were to close tomorrow. Well. I can finally play through my backlog. What does everyone’s steam libraries look like?
