Some people have been pointing out that we still have the Sword of Sargeras stuck in Azeroth, but realistically, what are we supposed to do with it at this point? We stopped the infection with our artifacts and stopped the planet’s bleeding with the Heart of the Azeroth. At the moment, its just a big splinter…a REALLY HUGE splinter, yes. And its size lies in the problem.
The sword is bigger than any mountain in Azeroth we’ve seen. You can see it from zones far away. How the hell do you suggest we even proceed to get it out? And what do we do with it after?
1: Pull It Out? The only way I see that happening is getting a whole fleet of giant airships, tying them to the sword, and then yanking it out. Even if we do pull it out somehow, where do you put a giant mountain-sized sword?
2: Chip it Out? Send people at the top or the bottom to start breaking the sword into little pieces. Sure…that will only take a couple thousand years.
3: Magically Teleport It Away? Sure, that would probably only require EVERY freaking mage and warlock on Azeroth to work together to make a portal big and strong enough to yank it out and suck it somewhere else.
4: Laser It Out? Ehhhh…this may be the most plausible way actually. But where are we going to get a giant super laser? The only one we ever used for something of similar size was the one we used to blast that giant tumor-god, N’zoth.
5: Ask a Friendly Titan To Pull It Out? Ok, find a friendly titan and ask him.
At this point, its just best to accept its there for now, and the only way it’ll probably be taken care of is when Azeroth wakes up. Technically, the planet is her “egg” and the sword is just stuck in the shell.
Warriors already have Titans Grip
They’re just being lazy

Asmon asked Ion about this sword that is being asked by many WoW players. And Ion answered “What Sword?”. I laughed so hard. Ion doesnt even know the issue. ROFL.

As we all know, its completely impossible for someone to be joking about something so obvious that it shouldn’t even have to be pointed out.

For me the issue is the lack of worldbuilding. like where are the various goblin companies fighting over the azerite in silithus? where are the cults worshipping it? I would like to see in game azeroth as an actual world where things happen and then people react to those things.
if that makes sense

Why haven’t we salvaged it for building material? Surely you could scrap it bit by bit and build a city with the removed pieces dedicated to continue scrapping it… OMG this is where Player Housing is going to be! Players scrap the sword for mats, use those mats to build homes around it! J/k

Seaforium. Blow up all of silithus. ALL OF IT.
Just glue some branches on it, and voilà, it is now the tallest tree in Azeroth.

The problem is phasing. If a quest removes it and it is phased out, my characters who have done this quest may not be able to help someone questing in the area who hasn’t don’t the quest to remove the sword.
It’s like the red starburst portal to Argus in the sky. How do they remove it so Legion playing folks see it but we don’t. It’s just easier to leave it and ask folks to use a bit of imagination.
A lot of dynamite got an airship out of the side of Shen-zin Su (the Wandering Isle). Granted it almost killed him, but still.
All I know is I have an ability called “Titan’s Grip”… yet I can’t pull the sword out and wield it myself.
False freaking advertising.

See this is the problem with blizzard in their current state. We ask , what about the giant sword?
They go, what sword? its just a splinter now with out its corruption!
I would have gone, new raid and dungeon zone - get! Imagine the twilight hammer and remnants of the silithid hallowing it out as their new fortress.
I think we should get all the gnomes to stand under it to catch it and carry it off and then chop it down.

An idea I came up with, and the more I think about it the more I like it, is we never actually know. One day it is just GONE! In its place is Theldurin the Lost and his crew from Badlands. He has a quest called “What sword?” which is a series of RP quests similar to what he has now in Badlands. It is full of half truths and lies and by the end we never get a straight answer and we are left with more questions than when we started.
This takes care of this mistake in the plot in a classic Blizzard style: With humor and a nod and a wink to the player.

have azeroth pinch her nose and try to blow thru her nose… works well for plugged ears
Disintegrates and reforms in Sargeras’ hand when he escapes jail
They are ignoring it cause the new expansion always gets priority and they don’t have enough time to address it.
It feels like the white house in some respect… Ion says one thing and Steve Danuser says another [both being about the sword]. lol
