How can I simultaneously be so bored with wow and also still want to play it?

Anyone else ever have this? To where it’s like… I go “I wanna play wow” hit Play on battle net app, then when I get to the character select screen I’m just like okay nvm. I can’t hit enter world on any character because what am I gonna do on them? Do laps in Oribos?

The only thing I care about in wow anymore is progressing in m+, but as soon as I reach my goal, usually KSM or KSH, I lose interest. I want to play all of my characters but I don’t see a point in progressing m+ on more than one per season because it’s like covering ground I already mastered. I see my old beloved alts and I’m like “I wish I had a REASON to play you!”

I have spent the last couple of decades television free, so getting home and turning the PC on is my norm, i often eat dinner at my desk too. You can only watch so many things, read so many articles or chat on so many forums before you wonder to yourself “I wonder if my auctions sold  lol

I think that’s called addiction OP.

You have too much going on.

You have no focus, so you see everything while seeing nothing at all, like trees on the side of a highway.

Look at less, you’ll start to see more, and things will get interesting again young grasshopper.

I’m not sure i’d be so quick to call it an addiction, a lot of people in the world get home and turn their TV on as soon as they walk in the door, not watching any TV would leave a huge gap in their normal day to day activities at home, that doesn’t necessarily indicate an addiction, it could just be out of habit.

It’s the general symptom of being “done” for a given season. If your goals have been met, no doubt you will be bored.

Time to do it again on an alt, or use the time doing something else you like until next season.

For me, the treadmill is not the deciding factor. I still enjoy working on older collections & achievements I missed along the way.

Not bored just too tired after a long day. And I end up just standing in a public space with a thousand yard stare

Haven’t felt that way in a while.

Used to hit me when I would be using multiple guys to farm a drop. Finish up with the last one, not get the drop and sit there annoyed and disappointed while deciding what to do next.

Usually I would go outside and do yard work.

That’s me right now.

Wow open on my other monitor, been afk for a hot minute, just totally wore out.

I got enough energy to clear my afk warning, that’s about it tho.

i can’t care about real life either so i’m doubly cursed. i just alt around in wow and maybe try to get bronze celebration tokens right now to get tier 2 hi rezzes even though i wasn’t a vanilla player and don’t have nostalgia for them it’s something not hard to play for.

It’s not the game, it’s you. I’ve been playing since June 2005 and am still loving every bit of retail (classic and classic variants = gross). Might be time for you to take a break.

Yep, I definitely feel that.

Usually it means it’s time to level a new alt, or raise up a skill while talking in chat or something. Or have something else going on in the background.

Or just doing something else for a while - that works too.

Yes when the repetition sets in. Like with leveling, repeating the same quests on a different alt can make things boring and not want to play. Remix shook this up a bit because it was on Pandaria, but then the repetition set in and yeah, hard to log in to play the mode.

Usually a week off can shake the feeling away or dabbling in Classic.

Join a dungeon as a tank and pull everything. When you get kicked, come to the forums and complain about it.
