I want to just spend hours and hours killing stuff to farm gold but there seems no viable way to do that right now. It seems like the only rich people are veteran players. And multiboxers who stare at the AH screen all day.
Classic is that way. This isn’t a viable way to make gold.
Farming old raids at max level can net you a few grand in gold a week. So, farming, while not ideal, is a method to make gold.

A few grand a week is not a viable option. I want like 50k every day. I have no life right now and am addicted to wow I should be able to get 50k g that fast 
This late in an expansion lucky drops are probably the only way your going to do it.

You could just do all the WQ’s, they almost always involve killing stuff. While only some give gold as the reward, they all give rep, and prestige chests give 4k-5k each.
You can also run through old raids and hope for lucky drops for transmog and pets that can give larger gold amounts, although that takes playing the AH and some patience to wait while they sell. Then vendor the rest of the stuff you get from the raid.
You can also look up what mobs to kill for the rare BfA mount drops in the different zones, and sell the mounts that you get. But again, that involves the AH and patience, too.

My main money maker is having a number of capable alts (like this guy) who can farm gold through WQs and missions. I take my time to build up professions and eventually reach a teetering point where money comes easily. I’ve always been the sort to make everything and not buy anything, look for cheap raws on the AH to supplement. The trick to me is figuring out what material is scarce and what’s the best thing to make from it (usually a needed consumable) then watch the market for the raws. I use The Undermine Journal addon to know what’s a good deal.

I guess my problem is I just spend all thr time. Reforging azerite, transmog every 2 hours. But repairs are too expensive imo
You might have more luck typing that into google. Follow it with “in world of warcraft” though.

Unless i messed it up i think you can get somewhat near 20k gold by completing the WoD raids on all difficulties (not LFR) with one character
But honestly i cant remember how much i get, but it is quite a lot and fairly easy
Run every raid from MoP-WoD on every single difficulty, including LFR.
30-40k gold there.

Does that include hellfire citadel? I could never solo the first part of it. I lack mobility with most classes
They nerfed it to the point of being able to rp walk and beat it.
They nerfed the Mythic version of the first boss, its actually quite easy since i even manage to complete it with a Warrior

You’re not going to get 50k a day simply from grinding mobs. You’re going to need the AH for that.
Now you could find yourself a niche market and set yourself up in that, personally I find cooking and alchemy to be pretty decent margins with a great turnover (you gotta know what day to buy and sell stuff though), or you could just go the slightly less efficient, but more reliable route and just farm herbs in Nazjatar all day.

Something you could do is set dungeon difficulty to mythic and just run through all of the trash in freehold again and again. You will get a fair amount of raw gold, junk to sell, and cloth to put on the AH.
The only bosses that might give you trouble are Tyrant and Archimonde
Tyrant due to her debuffs and Arch in Mythic since he just throws you of the map, but if you have enough dmg they arent an issue
