How Can I Make My Mouse Movement Smoother?

I am having a terrible time placing the “x” guide on my screen. By that I DO NOT mean I cannot place it, but it just has a micro-mini “tug” which slides just past my target.

Could Blizz have made the upper right corner “x” (to delete) smaller?? No, right?

Anyone else have this problem?

Thanks

what are you deleting with X ?

Just about anything which shows one. Some are bigger, some are smaller. The big ones have more surface area, hence they are easier to hit.

BUT…

…It could be me. On a whim, I decided to look up “symptoms of needing cataract surgery”, and I pop up in about 4 of them. The VA checked my eyes but and said I was headed “that way”, but then Covid hit us and any elective surgery was put on hold. Got another insurance company looking into this now, and if anyone is interested, I’ll keep you in the loop.

Thanks for the reply, Robokappa, and just to let you know, I’m tweaking all the visual controls and I wonder if anyone like me (using the mouse) is missing the target - anything doesn’t have to be a large or small “x”. With me, I get into the “general area”, miss it, just a little and then readjust, I usually hit after 2 tries.

I don’t bind my keys. From the beginning (2008), I decided that binding doesn’t work for me - too much to remember. I also wear “Blue-Blockers” to rest my eyes.

Maybe someone else my age (72) will happen across this and join in the convo.

Thanks again,Robokappa, and have a great game!

You could adjust the UI scale.

what kinda mouse are you using? My suggestion is to get a higher DPI mouse… basically a gaming mouse.

Earthie, it is a Model T16 wired mouse and it came with a disc. I have had wireless before, but they had never worked well for me.

welp… that is a gaming mouse. I would adjust the dpi setting to see if that helps

Earthie, thank you, that helped. The cursor slides much smoother now.

Another note to Earthie: I found the disc that came with the T16 and “played” with it a bit. I never knew so many things could be affected by the mouse. That thing was aggravating me to the point where I didn’t even want to use it, and I was too embarrassed to ask anyone to help!

For instance, the “number of lines” command was set on 3 , and after playing with it, I finally got it right. Same thing with the speed of the pointer!

I made it so it would c-r-r-r-r-ra-a-a-a-w-w-w-ll-l-l- so slow across the page. Thank the Light I finally got THAT reset to normal. To clarify, the pointer speed was not a problem. Just one of the things I tried after finding the disc and inserting it. DPI was adjusted to above 5000.

Just wanted to report in. It’s a good mouse, but this time I was the problem.

Thanks again

One more thing, then I’ll put this thing to bed, I promise, Earthie: In addition to fixing the mouse, I accidentally came upon a problem which also needed attention: the mouse surface. My wife brought in a little rectangular mat 15"x11’ which has just the right amount of slick-a-ditity, and now the whole thing runs like a charm.

The mat comes in a pack of three - in colors - at Dollar Tree Plus in the kitchen section.

Maybe this will help someone. Y’all sure have done plenty for us!
