How can there be belief DF will be better than sl? The same way sl would be better than bfa…they even added a rip cord. The story arc is so non-sensical. I’m not a sylvanas fan but she was a great and I mean great character! Her story arc was like a painter who paints himself into a corner because that’s what the creators did. Pvp is the sloppiest mess I’ve ever seen. No plans to change it they just plan to go back to “wod” style. 
Didn’t work then and won’t work now but believed every time an xpac comes out it’s going to be full of creative content. Throw on a lawsuit, change of “culture” and basically a Human Resources ramp up whose only job is to keep folks from getting more lawsuits. The ceo got a bajillion dollar handshake out the door. But the guy who is in charge of wow….he’s still at the head of the table through all the decline and terrible content and state of the game. And he’s still in charge of DF! And somehow DF is going to be better than SL? basically asked and begged the same brain who took us down this dark path to get us out. Einstein said you can’t use the same brain to solve a problem that created it in the first place. That’s called insanity.
So that’s just my dark context but my question remains: what and how could remain that would give hope that DF will be more akin to the game we fell in love with so many years ago?

If Dragonflight is somehow worse than Shadowlands, I think our favorite game is doomed.
I think it will be better. Some people say they have more fun on the beta than they have on live right now.

I fell in love with WoW during Wrath and going back to play it now, I don’t think I was in love with that particular iteration of the game, but just the experience as a whole. Learning new things, doing new things, meeting new people, accomplishing goals I set for myself. It was all new to me.
Kind of like how when I met my last girlfriend, I fell in love with her so hard, but I can’t go back and experience those first feelings of love with her ever again. If I popped back up in her life, it would just be the same mess it was when we split up. It’s over. It’s done.
Nothing good lasts forever and I think a lot of us are slowly realizing that the game will never be as good as it once was to us and no amount of changes will make us feel that fuzzy feeling we had when we first really fell in love with WoW.
Can we all just move on

I’m grateful, for Classic and love that iteration of the game.
Yeah I suppose my post was a bit more anguish than intended and perhaps a little to critical but come on! After all the lawsuit and stuff I’m still a dedicated WoW player and I just feel like we are getting trolled now. And getting rid of those In charge of wow might just make things worse in the long run if that’s possible. Wow needs to be saved from the scrap heap id hate to see it go out in a fizzle but more of a bang! Like New Year’s Eve style type joy not the police show up at a party type seal and it all ends
But the guy who’s in charge of SL was the one who designed Wrath’s Raids and Dungeons. Who you want to replace him? You? You never even play dungeons and raid.

How is SL better than BFA? Is it becoz people hate Azerite that they are forced to play the game as Azerite is tied to our Powers? And on SL, their wish was granted that Anima replaced Azerite and now it’s not tied to Powers. These same people are no longer forced to play the game and yet still hate Anima as it has no value. Azerite or Anima, these whiners would whine regardless.
Just wait and see. Borrowed Powers would be removed and still these whiners would complain. WoW is doomed. Becoz whatever direction it would go, whiners would whine. If I were Blizz, they should stop paying attention to these whiners. Shadowlands even if it’s the worst Expansion… it is still a World of WarCraft Game… still arguably better than all MMO’s right now.
As long as there are Dungeons, Raid and PvP, Dragonflight would be okay. Becoz it’s still a World of WarCraft. Hard to find a Massive game as great as WoW.

Who cares about story. If gameplay is bad then it doesn’t matter how good the story is
Wod pvp was amazing and the redeeming factor or wod. Pvers were the ones whining and quitting
Don’t care about creative content. Is the class fun and do buttons feel good to press? Good expansion. I’ve probably played over 4000 games of warsong gulch alone and it’s still my favourite map. I don’t need a new innovative concept to kill players and return flags
Yes. They’ve acknowledged things they did wrong in SL and addressed how they hope to help fix them in DF (re: pvp gearing). SL did have improvements over BFA but missed the mark on other things, DF will be combining those improvements without the added SL things players didn’t like
1 set of honor gear and 1 set of conquest gear, pve gear not being bis in pvp and no borrowed powers affecting pvp balance (conduits, soulbinds, azerite traits, legion artifact weapons, corruptions) is all i need to be happy
So for me personally DF is shaping up to be more enjoyable than SL

Nah. The game is very much playable even with only 2k-1k active players on a server. We will be fine for a long time even if the game is dookie.

Yeah I suppose I have loftier expectations than legion bfa and sl as I started in 2005 vanilla and then bc hit and it was soooooo good! And then wrath and it was soooooo good! And then cat hit and it was good but not good but still it was the best! The mop…meh etc until now. So the game compared is absolute garbage but it’s still wow so I guess there’s that

It already looks better in my eyes because the land masses are connected.
The world is one of wows strong suits; I have no idea why they thought breaking it up was a good idea.
Also having to fly back to the centre to get to another zone was just a nightmare
