When i see in trade chat about selling AOTC mytic + and roic raids some say ( gold only) others are level 1 spaming the same thing without the gold only part. I have reported one or two after i whisper them how much? they respond with we sell for real money is that ok with you. I include that part in my report and a few days later i get a mail saying thanks from Blizz for reporting.
The problem is they are back the next day spaming the same thing on a different toon.
Does Blizz dig into the reports and ban the guild who is doing the runs or just the fake account that is spaming.
Is there a way for them to find the guild who is selling for real money and ban them?
Typically those kinds of players use sperate accounts that arenât tied to their real IP and guild, so it makes it harder for blizzard to figure out what guild is doing it. The only way they would know to be frank would be for them to buy a run, and then that would give them a direct link to the site or guild thatâs participating in RMT.
Itâs amazing the lengths players will go to RMT in the game, and sad at the same time. Which at the end of the day makes it impossible for blizzard to effectively stem the issue.
One day Blizzard might consider possibly thinking about maybe looking into setting up traps for these RMT sellers with GMs on normal accounts.
That is to say, itâs probably not happening but I feel like there would be ways to figure out which guilds/players are participating in RMT even with these dummy accounts trying to be a 3rd party.
There really isnât a good way for Blizzard to take action against a guild. If the alt isnât actually in the guild, it becomes difficult for them to tell if the guild is actually guilty of anything or if it is just someone trolling the guild to cause trouble.
What they should do is go undercover, buy some runs and when they are invited into the raid and zone in. Then they can take action as at that point they can at least nab the âraidâ team.
Any guild that is hiring themselves out like that has to know they are taking a horrible chance. Itâs probably not ban worthy but it would be clearly a âthis is your oneâ warning territory.
All Blizzard needs to do is buy a few runs and find out who is leading these paid runs. From there the electronic trail should be pretty easy to follow. A few mass bans of guilds and word will get out.
If your time playing WoW is spent trying to catch people who are selling carries, you are essentially paying a monthly subscription to do Blizzardâs job for them. This is fun gaming to you?
Itâs not going to stop as long as the Token is still a thing. Get rid of the token and the sales will drop. Not stop but drop back to the way itâs always been.
We all know Blizzard will never stop selling token because that is where they make their money now. So selling runs will never stop. They no longer care for the subscriber they care about the token buyers and sellers. As long as they are happy blizzard makes money.
Being chat Notziâs wouldnât really do much. If Blizz went Skynet level with chat monitoring and scooped up spammers instantly then theyâd just go to Discord and sell there then what would you do? Blizz doesnât control discord, wouldnât even have to disguise it there âSelling runs $50â.
