Except for the gold. That was the only thing WoD had that other expansions lack. But gold is easy to get if you exalted with emissaries
The reason some people think that WoD was better than BfA is that everyone has their own opinion. For instance, I don’t think that any expac after MoP was really worth the money I paid for it, but out of WoD, Legion, and BfA, WoD was the best of them. That’s just my opinion though.
Semper Fi!
Raids. God the raids in BFA are awful.
Some good boss mechanics tied behind absolute slogs.
I’d debate that.
At least BfA didn’t have a major core patch based around the selfie camera
That’ll forever cement WOD as the worst xpack, but god does BFA come close.
Most players don’t think that, OP. Most players always hate the current expansion. One day BFA will be praised, just like the rest of them.
I could level a toon to max level, get my BiS gear (minus the Ashran trinket) from playing the content that I like, and continue to keep playing the content that I enjoyed without any real hassle.
Didn’t have to grind reps for essences, do dailies to upgrade a cloak, farm m+ and raids for gear, or do any PvE, except for leveling.
Inb4 someone says, “PvP iS jUsT a MiNi GaMe.” My guild also raided back then, they lasted way longer in WoD than BFA.
Game design was far superior in WoD. Almost everything feels like a time played metric in BFA. Worst part is that they’re so mindless (minus Visions). Also class design is straight garbage in BFA. Your character is the vehicle through which you play the game, bad class design itself put BFA lower than WoD. You literally got to level 120 and gained nothing; you actually got weaker LOL.
Haha true, I’m not even necessarily standing up for BfA, I agree with you. I’m just reminding everybody
I miss Ashran.
I’m sorry but this is just opinion. God I absolutely HATED WOD raids. Orcs EVERYWHERE. All the encounters were BORING. It was the same fire mechanic on every boss.
To me WOD was an all time low for raiding…
Better class design, better gearing design, better gear design too, better story (even if the premise was stupid) better world building, better questing experience, much better pvp.
What good is a ton of things to do if it’s all trash?
What do you think this topic was about other than asking for opinions?
Players will praise aspects of the expansions, not the whole thing.
WoD was better than BFA because the classes back then were actually fun to play.
WoD was only praised before it came out and for the first month it was out then everyone was like… “soooo i don’t have to leave my garrison ever?”
Because I loved the zones, the storylines, my Garrisons, all of the pet battles, my stable of new mounts, the treasure hunting, the rep tokens, the character storylines, etc.
They were good back then. They are crap now.
I had at least two servers full of max level alts in Warlords.
I had three servers full of max level alts in Legion.
I have a total of four characters at max level in BfA.
Shocking how some people enjoy different things, I know.
WOD’s base was better whereas it’s content suffered due to the lack of patches. BFA’s base wasn’t so good, but its content has been enchanced due to patch content.
I’d easily contest that. WoD and BFA, for all their flaws, definitely had some solid raids. Both BRF in WoD and BoD this expansion are some extremely polished raids.
WoD has a plethora of cut content we were promised. A measly 3 raids, bland dungeons and no end-game outside of raids.
BfA actually has content.
