I’ve been questing lately, between legion and BFA when i skipped out past panda up to now, and i’ve been seeing a pattern of a lot of mobs in one area, a lot of rapid respawns depending on how many players are in the zones and depending on the frequency of world bosses take down rates, as a result of all this chaos all over the place at a constant rate i know from experience how bad this kind of mechanics is for server resources.
Every time a player spams a spell, every time something respawns and walks around in a zone, with every group that is formed, with every looting that is done in a zone, it takes away from server resources resulting in a lot of lag and glitches over time. though i love how they designed the zones, there are a few tweaks that needs fixed
-
first of all, world bosses needs a slower respawn rate in order to improve the lag, or perhaps make world bosses have their own shard servers where the bosses only shows up on screen by selecting the world quest, this way, ppl can quest and not run into action delays and npc bugs at such a constant rate
-
mobs also needs their own shard servers and needs to reduce the amount of mob npcs that are on the field to reduce lag, and make mobs only visible to the player that has currently accepted the quest in order to reduce server resources taken away where players fights over mob killings and constantly respawning rapidly, the faster the respawn rate, the more lag it creates
But these features needs to be legion and BFA wide, not game wide
