Anniversary TBC should be as true to OG TBC as possible.
No changes, progressive patches, same timeline.
Allowing the playerbase to copy their characters to Vanilla Era once Anniversary Vanilla has concluded is appropriate as is once Anniversary TBC has concluded, having TBC Era available allowing the playerbase to copy to their characters there.
Account-wide attunement. I can’t think of why this would be big enough to put in the game. If you are going to level more than one character you are going to gear those extra characters to raid and doing the attunement doesn’t seem like a lot to ask as part of that process. If they are going to do this might as well just remove attunements instead.
Bloodlust/Heroism raid wide. What do the Shaman think about this?
Remove Weapon Skill. The conversion from Weapon Skill to Expertise is fine and doesn’t need a change. Congrats non-Orc/Human you are not as much of a wrong-race as in Classic Vanilla.
Let us close toons to classic Era. I hope they do this. It would be nice to have a copy of my Tauren Warrior to play on Era forever if I want to pay the fee. Since Anniversary isn’t wildly different from Classic Era it might actually happen.
Extra loot drops from raid bosses to make up for the sped up phases. I am not sure this does anything because of RNG. You might get 2x the loot you don’t need every run instead of it gearing up your raid. All classes get more BiS items from each tier in TBC, but loot luck is such a big factor that I don’t think 2x loot drops would result in your raid being geared up before the next phase hits. Or worse, some guilds would be decked out based on phenominal luck while others are not getting critical items week after week - see Thunderfury and Onslaught Girdle luck for reference.
Wouldn’t account wide be a good compromise though? Wrath had a big focus on alt friendliness as a result of complaints about how arduous attunement and reps were in tbc. They’re good for building a sense of attachment with a main, but the problem is once you’ve done it, there’s nothing on the other side other than raid logging. Maybe adding heroic/daily badges earlier? Putting more reagents than just nethers on badge vendors?
As a shaman main I think it would be a great change. Totems still make it the class that brings the most group wide utility and added dps in the expansion, but it makes comps more flexible and decreases gear competition for us.
Individual and guild gearing would on average increase linearly with the increased drop rate, and it absolutely should be done if the phases are sped up as they’re expected to be (unless you think gear was acquired too quickly during OG TBC).
I don’t have a problem with boosting the drops really. 2x seems arbitrary if the point is to get geared faster between phases. You are just as likely to get 2x items you don’t need as 1x something you have been waiting on to drop.
Some groups would get super lucky though, that happens too.
Stop gatekeeping era u weird SoM players who demanded changes and got era on whatever patch we are on now. 1.13 is where era should of stayed. Stop gatekeeping ur 10k peak pop servers that makes RuneScape 3 look like the most played mmo
2x drops doubles the likelihood of getting what you need regardless of how likely it was at 1x.
If you’re saying that drops would have to increase much more than 2x to meaningfully change how many weeks it might take to fully gear, that could certainly be mathematically true. But I don’t know that most players would agree that drops shouldn’t increase “because you’re not going to get geared anyway.” I think most would want to increase drops to the point where not missing a lockout means you are likely to get most of what you need, which could easily be calculated if the length of an individual phase is known.
