I guess one last post before I go to show how much Blizz does not give a about Ele.
To illustrate Blizz lack of attention to detail and how much they don’t care about Ele:
If you are not running Primal Elementalist and just have a regular Elemental you get different behaviors from the Fire/Storm Elemental and our 2 piece set bonus. If you drop your Fire Elemental and pop Ascendance the Ascendance proc will add 3.6 seconds to your Fire Elemental, but if you are using the Storm Elemental and pop Ascendance it will drop a 2nd Elemental. If you are using Echo of the Elementals the 2nd Storm Elemental will also summon a Lesser Elemental. How does the Fire and Storm Elementals NOT behave the exact same way?
Oh but it gets better if you are using Primal Elementalist and you use your Earth Elemental as a defensive your 2 piece doesn’t work, Ascendance won’t even drop a Fire/Storm elemental while the Earth Elemental is out.
The icing on the cake, what really makes you realize how incompetent Blizz is. The set bonus drops the Fire or Storm Elemental for 6 seconds (3 seconds in pvp). If you are using Everlasting Elements those times are 7.2 seconds and 3.6 seconds. If you are using Primal Elementalist and the Fire Elemental when the Fire Elemental spawns it will first cast Immolate which is a 2 second cast and then try to cast Fire Blast which is a 3 second cast for a total of 5 seconds to complete. These two spells are affected by your haste, but most players do not have enough hast to get the 2 spells to complete in under 3.6 seconds. So, what happens is the Fire Elemental casts Immolate, then is in the process of casting Fire Blast, and then just disappears poof gone doesn’t finish the cast. Blizz couldn’t even calculate how much time would be need for the Fire Elemental to at least cast both of its spells.
They literally could have done anything like have the Elementals duration 10/5 seconds and reduce its damage so that it can at least cast both of its spells.
Blizz as a company has no attention to detail, they have no real communication with players and is basically just a company.
The reality is they really need to stop applying the pve tier set nerfs to PvP as well. PvP is already nerfed by 50%, further nerfing tier sets in pvp due to pve complications ends up being really bad.
Same thing happened to enhance, although I think our 4 set is still okay to play due to being well statted pieces, we aren’t taking crash lightning at all. PvE enh tier set got nuked kinda hard first week of the patch, and it applied to pvp despite already being nerfed by 50%. So now Crash does pitiful damage with 4 set in PvP and we won’t play that talent even though the entire point of the tier set is to have you play it. They also nerfed Doom Winds proc from 4 seconds to 3 in PvE and applied that to PvP lol.
If the tier sets overperform in PvP, then nerf them for PvP, but stop applying PvE nerfs to PvP like this.
But where is this spelled out for a player who doesn’t actually do the math or look up guides? Why is the tier set and certain spec choices a total trap if “spec’d improperly”? ie. How would the “average player” know this?
your talking about a type of player that is so low on the totem pole that design anything in this game for them will act as a detriment for everyone else
tiersets have always pushed specific builds ahead since vanilia. generic tiersets that push everything equally by design still push specific builds ahead and have the added downside that theyre boring.
there is no solution, this is the best one for everyone. stop using rpers as a shield for your personal bias
Not in the sense that it is described here.
If the tierset said “Elemental Blast now cleaves” or “When you drop a Liquid Magma Totem” etc…but the differences in interactions are not explained or clear anywhere.
Also…not sure what “bias” i have. I simply made a logical point.
