How are your keybinds set?

I’ve been looking on improving my key binds (if possible) and wanted to see how everybody else works their magic. Currently I have the G110 Logitech Gaming keyboard, and an M60 Corsair mouse. My key binds are as follows:

My 3rd top bar uses the CTRL modifier, my 2nd middle bar uses the SHIFT modifier, and my first bar uses no modifier.

CTRL: Q - W - E - R - S - F - X - C - 1 - 2 - 3 - Mouse Btn 5

SHIFT: Q - W - E - R - S - F - X - C - 1 - 2 - 3 - Mouse Btn 5

Q - W - E - R - S - F - X - C - 1 - 2 - 3 - Mouse Btn 5

A & D is set to strafe left / right.

I have the G keys (G1-G12), but I only use G12, G11, and G10 because they are closest to my hand (pinky). I wish I could gain some more functionality out of those, but I have small hands, and would prefer not to hop around. If you google the keyboard they are just a bit of a stretch, again, I have small hands.

G12 for Surveying
G11 for Fishing
G10 for Milling (inscription)

As far as my mouse goes I have 8 buttons. I’m not using all of them, which I’d like to implement more of today because I feel I could get allot of functionality out of it that I’m missing. Or maybe I can’t idk.

Mouse Button 4 - Auto Run (side button)

Rest of the Mouse binds are pretty much the same besides Mouse Button 5 (side button) which is used on my action bars.

I have very odd binds. WoW was the first computer game I’d ever played so it felt more natural to use the arrows to move instead of wasd, those felt very cloggy.

So for 12 years now I’ve been using the arrows, number pad, home, delete, etc…

Works just fine but definitely different.

I have the Corsair k55 and Logitech G602 mouse both come with extra programmable buttons, I have an extra 6 keys on my keyboard and 6 more on my mouse I use.

It took some getting used to but having everything so close and all the extra keys means I don’t need a modifier, especially with the talent pruning.

On my disc priest I got very good, had shield and scream on my mouse at first and it was so handy and natural so I started experimenting.

Please understand though that I was coming from a Zmerc keyboard that had an extra qwerty setup on the same keyboard that put all the keys at your fingertips, it was a deadly setup in PvP, sadly the driver is no longer supported so I had to scramble a bit.

Gaming mice with buttons are the way to go and it’s great to see a gaming keyboard with extra keys also.

I use my mouse only for movement.

I use asdfg, wr, zxcvb, 1234 for my abilities, with shift and alt variations.

Plus shift for all that ^

Strafe on a and d
Not a fan of Ctrl, z, or x, just feels awkward for me.

1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5 - 6 - F - G - H - R - (unbound) - (unbound) for my main action bar.
Bottom left bar is F1-F12
Right action bar is Shift + the main action bar assignments (shift + 1-6, Shift + F, etc.)
side action bar has T and Shift + T, as well as a bunch of unbound slots for things like hearthstones, profession windows, and other non-important abilities

T / Shift T is for my mount and flying mount respectively.

My abilities are set up pretty similarly on all characters in respects to which button does what:
1: either a charge or ranged ability like jade lightning, or a CC ability like entangling roots (basically my random get into or get away from enemy abilities)
2: My most used attack: Solar Wrath, Tiger palm, etc.
3: Usually a Damage over time effect or less used attack like moonfire, blackout strike, etc.
4: Usually a spender or longer cast time attack: Lunar strike, rising sun kick, death coil, etc.
5: Usually an AoE attack: Sunfire, Fists of fury, Death and decay, etc.
6: Either a cleanse for healers (detox, etc.) or an interrupt (kick/spear hand strike/etc) for tank/dps.
F: Typically my ‘fast heal’: vivify, regrowth, etc.
G: Heal over time: Rejuvenation, enveloping mists, etc.
H: Channeled or larger heals: Swiftmend, greater heal, soothing mist, etc.
R: Extra healing abilities, usually: Lifebloom, Renewing mists, etc.

F1: usually a movement ability: Travel form, roll/whirling torpedo, etc.
F2: Usually a ‘form’: Moonkin form, shadowform, storm earth and fire, etc.
F3: Cat form for my druid (just for the speed boost), for others its a self defensive cooldown / damage reduction cooldown
F4: Secondary self defensive cooldown, like barkskin
F5: Ally-targeted defensive cooldown, like ironbark
F6 through F8: Extra abilities that arent commonly used, like soothe / hibernation
F9-F12: healing potions, Mana potions, and class abilities that either heal myself or restore mana like renewal / innervate

Shift+1: CC ability, like paralysis, mass entanglement, etc.
Shift+2: Either a resource spender or another CC ability (Starsurge, Ring of Peace, etc.)
Shift+3: Additional DoT attack or another CC ability (Solar Flare, Leg Sweep, etc.)
Shift+4: Additional attack/aoe attack (Starfall, Spinning crane kick, etc.)
Shift+5: Racial or additional utility ability (fury of elune, quaking palm strike, etc.)
Shift+6: Racial or additional utility ability (shadowmeld, etc.)

Shift+F: Revive (single target)
Shift+G: Revive (Entire party) or battle rez
Shift+H: Shield type abilities, like cenarion ward or life cocoon, my “oh crap” heals when the shtf

I am probably a weirdo for my binds. A and D are sreafe. W and S forward backward

I use QERFXCV

Throw in shift for these as well.

I have a regular mouse with two side buttons. I use scroll up scroll down side buttons and shift side buttons.

Anything else I can easily reach in the number pad

Pots and flasks and the like I don’t care so i click

I use the Logitech G13 game pad (similar to the Orbweaver by Razer) and a 6 button thumbball mouse

First 12 buttons are standard 1-= on the numbers above letters

Next 10 buttons are [Shift] 1-0

Then 2 by thumb stick are for [Tab] and discord

THumb stick is w s q e and if I press down on it [space]

Mouse has a couple extra buttons I use for Mount and the extra action icon that pops up on the screen depending on the quest .

Similar to this but wired.

Keybinds are totally personal. There are no “better” keybinds than what you have and muscle-memorized since vanilla. It could be the most whacked out all over the keyboard mess but if you know where everything is by touch - automatically when attacked out in the world, then that’s your best keybinds.

Knee-jerk reaction is why your keybinds need to stay where they are.

Sooo hard when they removed spells and add stuff. You get messed up if you have to think before you press a key.

1234 - secondary attack / 5 - any forward movement ability.
qwer - primary attack / t - any odd additional primary attack
asdf - defensive and healing
zxcv - buffs and other odd stuff.
mouse 4 - target enemy
mouse 5 - move backward

When running heals pretty much the same except that
qwer - is all macroed for all my heals and primary attacks using mouseover, so if im not moused over anything qwer are my attacks…but if I mouse over a friendly it fires that healing spell.

I have a special gaming Keyboard (THAT THEY DON’T MAKE ANYMORE! /Rages at sky ) So mine are really different.

1-9, R, T, F, G, V, B, P, C, Q, E with CTRL and SHIFT variations.

Same. I actually have my number pad set up as my movement keys and my abilities are set from 1 to the plus sign above the letters.

Using the number pad for movement just seemed natural, since I’m right-handed. Don’t know who originally got people hooked on using their left for movement.

EDIT: I should point out I use the mouse mostly for movement, but I occasionally use the number pad when I want to do thinks like strafe right and left.

I use my keyboard, and the binds are as follows …

Left Hand: main offensive abilities (1 - 6).
Right Hand: movement (I - O - P - left bracket; K - L), and above that, main defensive abilities (8 - equal sign).

I try to cluster similar abilities together.

I don’t do much in the way of highly competitive play, so I only have my main bar/core abilities keybound, which currently looks like this:

(C stands for Control)

My keyboard has Control placed where most keyboards have caps lock, making it easy to reach for, so it’s a natural choice for primary modifier.

This is what I do also. WASD just allows me to miss the key I’m looking to hit. Arrows work wonders for me with the entire NumPad, Delete, End, PgDn, Right Ctrl, Right Shift and Enter.
To each their own.

I use a Nostromo for my left hand - movement (except situational mouse turns), tab targeting, jump, and modifiers. I use a G600 for my right hand - with the 1-12 buttons all simply bound to the action bar slots. I never touch my keyboard except to chat.

Basically the same for me.

Shift wheel up and down are Cat/Bear Form

Ctrl wheel down is travel form

F is prowl

Shift + q w e r t a s d f g z x c
Ctrl ^
Alt ^

I also have an MMO mouse, so 7 is Feral Charge. 10 is my interrupt.

All I care about is the spells I need while in combat, and my Razer Nostromo and Logitech mouse with 6 additional buttons works just fine for that.
