How are you guys handling spec switching with Azerite

I'm having trouble adjusting to the changes to the Balance spec for BfA and so I've started playing as a Guardian for PvE content. The problem is that I don't know how to tank so I keep switching back to balance when it's time to do dungeons and raids.

I'm a newbie when it comes to spec switching, how do you guys deal with having to constantly change your azerite traits? Do you keep a spare set of armor? Do you travel to Boralus/whatever the Horde city is every time you need to do a dungeon or raid?

Is it a bad idea to just have a mix of different spec traits on your azerite armor? At least while you build up a different set for each spec?

Right now I've been picking a spec to focus on for each individual armor piece, so I've got shoulders that focus on Guardian stuff and a head piece for Balance.

(and yes, I know it would probably just be easier if I learned how to tank, but honestly I don't feel like I'd be a very good one so I'd rather stick to dps)
I'm handling it by not switching specs.
I'm keeping different set for different specs. My main spec is holy so of course my highest azerite pieces are focused on that. As I pick up spares helms, chests and shoulders I use them for disc or shadow.
I haven't had much occasion to switch specs for content yet, but I am working on collecting additional azerite pieces so I don't end up having to pay thousands of gold to respec. That's the best idea, unless you have millions of gold sitting around and coming in daily, which I don't.
I'm not.

In Legion, you mostly just had to swap out your Legendaries and your Artifact Weapon, which wasn't too hard.

In BFA, you have to swap out all your Azerite gear and possibly your main-stat gear depending on your class, as well as your primary weapon if it's different based on your spec. And you don't' get it automatically in BFA - you have to pray the RNG gods give you a weapon you can use.

Too much of a PITA to spec-switch this expansion. You're better off just playing an Alt IMO.
Umm while levelling I didnt worry about it but now I'm a bit spooked. I'm not the kind to carry sets in my bags. It looks like clutter and I have to clean it.
Have multiple sets of gear like a good hybrid. One of your sets will be better than others, but your skill as a player will make or break the outcome more than a few ilvls.

They are throwing azerite armor at us.
I'm just going to have two sets of gear. Like it was back in the Wrath/Cata days.
I have collected three different sets of gear. One for each spec.
If you're not pushing progression content (and currently there's not really anything to push) you can honestly just leave your azerite gear with off-spec traits on it.

In your case I'd recommend just picking all balance traits on your gear, it's not like those traits will make or break your outdoor questing experience. For example on Galadus here I do prot in the overworld/the occasional pug mythic but I'm healing for my guild. As I gather pieces that work for prot I keep 'em but in the meantime I just leave holy traits selected, not a big deal.
My poor druid is roughing it a little bit, but I am *trying* to keep 3 sets of everything per spec I am using (balance, resto, guardian).

Similar to my death knight, but she needs only 2 sets. Sometimes I ignore the trait and equip regardless if the ilvl jump is big enough.
Pray arms never gets nerfed.
I don't heal much and don't touch elemental. As much azerite gear is dumped on us between dungeon drops and WQ its not been an issue to keep two sets. Some of my abilities actually work both spec such as random chance to gain haste when using an ability/spell.

Also should note the only time I heal is when heroics offer that sweet sweet bonus loots.
The exact same way I've handled in in every expansion: Separate gear sets. It's significantly better than Legion was; in Legion, I had to keep eight different gear sets (tank/heal raid, tank/heal M+, dps raid/M+ sets for both ST and AOE builds); in BfA so far I've only needed three sets (one per spec).

I'm sure that'll change as I build up more dedicated sets, and I'm not DPS'ing a lot anymore, but it's a welcome relief from the craziness of Legion gear sets.
I'm reducing it to two specs instead of three, keeping a full Guardian set, anything leftover of high ilevel being ported to balance, and if I get a third it lingers, confused ("I... SHOULD pick the generic benefit, but it's damage and totally useless for resto..."), in by bag until I scrap it.
It's just like old school, you need multiple sets of gear. But for balance and resto druid, the stat priorities are the same, so only your 3 azerite pieces need to be duplicated.

Feral is different, so you need more than just the azerite pieces.

The built in gear manager makes it easy.

PAWN addon is also great for this, though you have to be careful with trinkets as I don't think it knows how to deal with the procs and on use stuff.
Azerite gear is so common, I have two sets.

My offspec has best possible traits even. Missing best chest for main spec though.

Yeah, it wasn't hard late Legion. In early Legion, you played one spec, and you were stuck with that. A hard cap of 3 Legendaries, and you had to pour almost all of your resources into your main weapon. Having a geared offspec was virtually impossible for most of Legion.
I just pick the non spec specific azerite traits so I don’t have to keep switching armor pieces and carry 3 different full sets of gear. All of the azerite traits are garbage anyways.
At 120 azerite armor will start to pile up upon you. Then you will be able to build different sets for each spec, for PvP or anything you could possibly want. I have four sets already and over 20 other pieces sitting in the back at this point.
