How are you gaming the vault with Delves?

I didn’t really do a lot of Delves this season. They felt more boring than I expected (I wanted Torghast, but sadly, no). In Season 2 I plan to do them more consistently.

Am I correct in assuming you should do six (or however many it is) Delves at level 3 to fill out the vault. And then do the highest you can so that all your slots go up to that ilvl?

What am I misunderstanding about this?

Also, my Brann is like…level 20. Is there a smarter way to grind him to 60+?

Only way is by doing bountiful delves. Next time there’s a delve event, just grind them out daily and take advantage of the extra xp

You need 8 delves to fill out all 3 slots for that row. You can do tier 1 delves to fill out the slots but the highest ilvl gear comes from tier 8 delves.

They don’t have to be bountiful delves though.

It works the same keys and raids.
It’s broken into groups, and your highest in that grouping is what you get

So if we take your example (6 at 3+ one 8) it would look like:

Slot one:
8
3

Slot two:
3
3

Slot three:
3
3

You need the highest ilvl you can obtain at the break points. So it would be at 1st delve, 3rd delve, 5th delve

In my experience, you have to do the Tier 8s if you want max rewards. The system will group the delves you have done in to groups of 2, 2, and 4, arranged from highest tier to lowest. It will then take the lowest tier run in each group and that will determine your reward.

e.g.

You do 6 delves at Tier 8 and 2 at Tier 3. The 2s slots will get all your Tier 8 runs, giving you max rewards, while the last 4s slot will just give Tier 3 rewards as your Tier 3 runs are the lowest in that group.

At least that’s how I think it works.

I just do enough bountiful tier 8 to max two vault slots. They are super boring after doing them so many times now so I stealth to all of the objectives and bounce asap.

I don’t think the changes to tier 11 are compelling enough to do regularly either. Will have to see how much it takes to upgrade a few key pieces of gear but I’ve learned not to overdo it trying to max everything because it makes it feel more like chores

There’s no reason to do lower delves for your vault. Just run 8 of the highest level you can.

I just ran 8 delves a week that were tier 8, because 8’s gave the highest rewards in season 1.

Isn’t it way faster to run a level 1?

Sure if you don’t care about getting any good gear in your vault.

If you’re looking to “game” the system you need to run the highest level of content as you can.

Delves require 8 for 3 slots to be filled out. And it goes in descending order of your highest tier done.

So let’s say you’ve run a 4, 5, 6, 7, 7, 7, 8, 2, 2, 3, 6, 8, 8, 8, 8, it would look like:

8
8 - First slots ilvl
8
8 - Second slots ilvl
8
7
7
7 Third Slots ilvl
6
5
4
3
2

OOooOOOooooh ok that’s what I was missing.

There are three slots. You need 2 delves for the first, 2 for the 2nd and 4 for the third. I’ve heard that’s going to go up to 3, 3 and something.

The highest level you do gets pushed to the first slot. Then the 2nd. The 3rd highest goes to the 2nd slot, then the 4th, etc. The slot level is what ever the lowest level Delve is in that slot.

Yes, it’s faster, but if you are after upgrades in the vault a level 1 isn’t going to benefit you.

If you have a vault slot unlocked right now, and lets say it says it’s going to give you a level 1 reward, you can raise that by running higher delves before Tuesday.

So if my goal is only to improve gear, then there is no point in doing over an 8? Is that right?

In S2 you’ll want to do up to 11s for gilded crest that allow you to upgrade your gear the last 2 upgrades in Hero track

I gamed it by just filling the first slot with T8.

That’s about all I can stomach as it is.
