How Are You Beating Zekvir

I’ve got the mechanics of this fight down but the CD on Spell Lock and Axe Toss are just too long. How are you all getting around the interrupt issues?

I gather you’re talking ??.
I haven’t really gone up against him yet, though, as I understand it, it’s only his heal you have to interrupt. There’s also one attack you can remove by either using teleport or Demonic Gateway (not sure which).
The rest is just keep close enough to dodge his funnel attack and far enough away to avoid his fear, and always prioritise the egg over all else.

I was having a really hard time with him too… So I call a friend to tank him, while I DoT him and damage him away… I was having the same issue with my Demonology spec… and since we needed to keep the damage on constantly even while doing the eggs I went with Affliction so I could keep damage on Zekvir while dodging and doing the eggs.

I’m very causal so for me was insanely hard for me… my friend tanking help a lot… and even then I had to souls stone and he BR a few times as we wipe and took I think around 3 to 5 tries until we sync up perfectly to do get it.
If you get a friend to help keep in mind that it scales the more join (I had to tell my brother to leave so we could get it done, he said he was able to solo him with his Pali no problem) and always let the player with the Highest Level Bran to start instance… also like Greymarc said… keep close to boss one of the attacks is a cone and its impossible to evade unless you port or gate away, if you can’t pop all your resistance and bubble cooldowns and you might survive the hit.

Once you memories the attack pattern you should get it down. Good luck!

PS: I love Delves… but I will be honest, as a filthy casual that fight was not my favorite but it was fun because I did it with a friend… not doing it again with my alts however! I know my limits and that boss and Lv 9 delve was my Wall when it comes down to the Delves skill personal ability level gameplay!

Use the demonic circle to purge the poison (ikr) and save the kick for the healing.

Like Hazue said: save your interrupt for his heal. Also, make sure to keep the Curse of Tongues effect up on him the entire fight and wait as long as possible during his cast to interrupt said heal.

If you’re running a spec capable of using diabolist (which I recommend), your teleport circle will clear the spittle debuff. Otherwise you’ll need to soulburn it to get the same effect.

First of all, destruction. You could theoretically do it as any spec, but this is the most reliable for getting the cocoons down in time. Felhunter for interrupt - only ever interrupt the heal, not spittle.

Why not interrupt spittle? Because either brann dispels you, or if he doesnt within about two seconds, use soulburn + circle to clear the debuff (hint: diabolist gets soulburned circles for free!)

In the class tree, take amplify curse. Bind this together with curse of tongues for a permanent 70% reduced casting speed on spittle and the heal, which buys you precious extra time.

In the rare instances zekvir isn’t casting something and pops you once or twice in the jaw, healer brann will provide the necessary healing to top yourself.

There’s zero dps check except for destroying the cocoons each time he spawns one. Everything else in the fight is well avoidable and manageable, so its just a marathon of not making a critical mistake like getting caught at the far end of his cone attack.

I wasn’t using demonic circle and I will try amplify curse also.

The main issue is out DPSing the heals that he does get off because of the long interrupt CD. A little self critique, I could probably monitor when interrupt is off CD a little better. I think it’s just going to be an extra long fight. I will try all of your tips though, thanks everyone.

Yeah, that’s one of the reasons why Curse of Tongues is mandatory for the fight. It’s tuned to our kit and makes the assumption your interrupt is 24 seconds CD + Tongues buffer.

Equip PVP trinket as an emergency button
Stay close and run behind him when he casts his 1shot cone spells
Use demonic circle to dispel his poison dot
Use felhunter for interrupting heals
Take out egg sac spawns asap
I found hellcaller spec to be the easiest to take him out with it being very mobile. I also played with the pet out for slightly more damage reduction and the fact you don’t have to stop casting to throw out an interrupt.

ive seen videos of people beating him as aff on ?? but it seems only certain races can do it. ive followed the excat steaps as the video but the mechanics work differently for me, than the video shows. this xpac was not designed for a class with such low mobility yet here we are suffering and no one cares because we have the lowest subs than any class

This.
