In this case it wasn’t a hidden post, it was an action taken by a forum moderator. I’ll post elsewhere to show you what I mean. I’ve had posts hidden and I’m totally cool with those. This was a warning and a reminder to view the forum CoC beyond that of the normal post hidden option I believe.
I think the reminder to review the Code of Conduct is normal. Mods don’t send messages through the notification system. I got modded by accident a year or so ago. It shows up as an email. The notification you get on that is that you are suspended!
It is very noticeable. It was someone abusing the report function and it got fixed fast, but still. No bueno!
Okay, thanks Mira and Toff.
Toff maybe your experience was part of an older system of doing things? And now it as Mira notes.
Here’s another:
From:
“I understand you may be upset by the length of the suspension, but this could have easily been avoided. We even provided ample warnings and silences prior to this.”
In this one Vrak notes that warnings were given and silences handed out. Which was appropriate. But if these warnings were automated and could not be seen by GM’s how would they know that warnings were given. This leads me to think these warnings were of the other type. Perhaps the email Toff mentioned?
This one was from Sept last year, so not ancient either.
Edit: frick I have no idea. Maybe this is a rabbit hole not needing to go down. heh
Honestly this is not that important. So I am going to leave y’all with something funny I was just shown. Apparently there is an item you can buy in game called:
Slap Rock
The text under it goes:
"Slap an egg between two slap rocks. BAM, you got breakfast. Slap a muffin there. POW, you got a waffle.
This made me laugh out loud. Hope it does you as well.
Y’all have a wonderful day now.
In the case of chat infractions, the warnings are the EULA, the policies we agree to, and the recent Social Contract reminder of those. The new automated individual warning system is on top of those initial general warnings.
Silences started in 2016 and initially were 24 hours for the first, doubling after that. Last year sometime, they decided it was not having the desired impact and now only a first infraction is a Silence (about a week I think), and any further infractions are suspensions.
ANY infraction on the account since the last penalty reset in 2016-ish, counts as a past reminder to behave.
That paragraph you cited was trying to point out to the person that this is not the first time they heard of the policy, nor the first time they were penalized.
Thanks Mira. As I said above, I was just curious. Maybe some mystery is good as well. Have a great day.
