How are they going to fix Horde/Ally pop in TBC

How are they going to fix Horde/Ally pop in TBC?

At the moment my guild has said we are transferring off to a PVE or rerolling horde… Same as many of the other guilds I have spoken to. Hellfire Pen is going to be a slaughter house for Ally, I’m huge fan of world pvp but 10 vs 1 is just not fun. Hopefully they come up with a plan. They never fixed the racials and look what happened in retail

So a lot of Alliance claim that Horde racials are completely broken in classic too and yet despite some servers like Skeram being overwhelmingly Horde, Alliance are still the majority of players overall

Maybe if TBC ever is released there might still be a few servers like Skeram but if AV having a greater than 90% winrate for Horde in classic and shamans and PvP racials aren’t enough to make Horde the majority in classic, do people really still think TBC imbalance would be that bad?

Why should they? Blizz isn’t forcing anyone to play a certain faction, that’s on the players.

Look at retail, there is literally less than a 1% difference between factions or racials now, but people still flock to horde. Maybe it’s not about racials…

I don’t think it’ll be that bad, horde is overrated IMO and people are just too lazy to reroll their full bis characters. People who are re-rolling horde are just dumb, racials wont matter that much like how they matter on private servers (when you’re playing against people who nolifed tbc for 10years). Classic TBC will just be filled with casuals playing non optimal comps.

The difference, is that if you want to be a Paladin, you HAVE to be Alliance in Vanilla. This actually creates a psuedo balance between the factions through differences that provide alternative playstyles and strategies that are really quite evenly matched. In TBC, not only do Horde get Paladins, they get the BEST Paladins, completely ending any reason to play Alliance other than you simply like the faction. Both sides can utilize the exact same strategies now, only the horde side will do every single one of them better now thanks to racials.

Never again will factions be as closely balanced as they were in Vanilla.

Alliance is DOA on pvp servers for TBC. It’s really that simple.

FRESHCUCK HAS SPOKEN!

Like an idiot, but he has spoken

t. 1600 player

This. The issue is arenas will be a huge thing in TBC. Horde racials are 100% better for arena which will make huge pvp imbalances.

Not a t.1600 player!!!

Idk how I’m gonna pick myself after that sizzler from the one and only “freshcuck”

The sock puppet that is so soft that he logged into an alt an hour ago just to flap his gums and pretend he’s anything else.

Horde population is much bigger now than in Vanilla. It’s only going to grow in TBC with paladins and BE.

You guys forgot how big of a game changer BE was when they appeared.

Most of the pvp servers are Horde heavy, I’d say come BC if you’re alliance move to pve or get camped.

I’m a nobody and I never said/wanted to be anyone/anything. Years of TBC private servers teached me that no racial will ever deny you from getting glad or r1 (especially with how casual NA arenas will be), but go ahead and abandon ur fully bis alliance character and roll an UD rogue.

We all know

They shouldn’t. If Horde players want to do nothing but dominate both PvE and PvP I say let them enjoy their dead BGs and WPvP.

Same way they did the first time. They aren’t. Players who find it horrifying will correct it or they won’t.

It’s almost like what people claim on the forums doesn’t mean a damn thing. 99% of players couldn’t care less about 'unbalanced 'racials. They didn’t back when TBC launched and they don’t now. They simply play the game and have fun. It’s catering to this elitist mentality that sucked the fun and joy out of the game in the first place.

So usually there are 3 things why people choose hord over alliance on private servers.

  1. Horde racials are better in pvp AND pve in tbc, because paladins are avialable to horde too and fear ward is usable by horde also. For example play against tripple undead rogue, mage, priest as alliance in arena and you will understand what this means.
  2. Paladin horde seal is way better than alliance paladin seal
  3. Bloodelfs are the most played race

In my opinion Blizzard has only two options.

  • Option 1: They can fix 1) and 2), 3) is not changeable. So they are able to tune the horde racials down a little bit or adjust the alliance racials to get a bit stronger. They won’t take spells or racials away completely which is a good thing. They are able to add paladin seal of the horde to the alliance. That would be my favored choice.

  • Option 2: But what I beleive they will do is to improve the layering. They will make the several layers semi faction balanced. with an overflow for the faction with the most members.

I plan on going the other direction actually. Having never played alliance, this time i would rather play Allaince than horde even if it is worse for them. I think they have some pretty good pve group stuff and assuming we got to Wrath, Racials kind of swing back to Allaince with Every Man.

Overall though the answer to fixing the issues would be changing the way the seals work. Changing racials whole sale is probable not really an option i would expect the devs to undertake overall.

They’re probably not. It’ll be up to the players to do that.
