How are Rogues?

Okay so I’ve never played Rogue before (I’ve never really had an interest in the class)

Anyways, right now my Rogue is level 27 and I am L O V I N G Outlaw. Most specs are downright boring but this one is actually quite fun!

I have a few questions.

  1. Is Outlaw good at 120?
  2. Mythic+ representation?
  3. Performing well in raids?
  4. Open world content good?

Also, Outlaw wants 2.6/1.8 correct? Leveling wise too? (I was told to use two 2.6)

Thanks! :slight_smile::blush::heart::ok_hand:t6::raised_hands:t6:

If you like a bit of RnG in your class outlaw is the way to go, and overall i’ve seen some really good outlaw rogues that are pulling some unreal damage. But in the end its how much you enjoy playing it is all that matters.

I don’t mind a BIT of RNG!

And for sure, I enjoy Shadow Priest too but constantly being declined for M+… you can only take so much before you crack :frowning:

I know how that feels, if you ever have any questions feel free to message on here or if ya want realid just let me know

All rogues are good. I play all three specs and here is what I found different in mythic dungeons.
Outlaw is really good at AOEing the packs of trash. Getting to the boss is 75% of the battle, imo.
Assassination is has a very good stable output of damage. They have a ton of interrupts. Bit of a pain DoTing the packs of trash and I seem to be always fighting the energy bar.
Sub has an extremely good burst and constant interrupt cycle. More for 1v1, but my dps meter says I’m about the same as the other two specs.
All rogues are down right killers in pvp, only players that are good at kiting can withstand the initial surprise attacks. A sub rogue can destroy just about anything by stun locking people to death if you get the rotation right.

I plan to just stick with Outlaw to be honest. My #1 fear of any spec is fighting a resource bar. Outlaw has Vigor and it just sounds amazing. I can’t stand a slow filling resource bar

  • Outlaw is great at 120
  • Outlaw is one of the top dps specs in M+ with the new seasonal Reaping affix. Right up there with DHs/Rets
  • http s://www .warcraftlogs.com/zone/statistics/21# Rogues are no Spriests/Locks, but there is always at least 1 Rogue spec that performs well in raids. Not to mention the mechanic soaking Rogues bring
  • Can solo world content, although it is much faster/easier getting a group. Best part is if you have warmode on, stealth/vanish/choosing when you want to fight or escape is invaluable

Only requirement for Outlaw weapons is one hander in the main hand so you can use all your abilities (mainly dispatch) and any weapon in the offhand. Fast or slow. Weapon damage is normalized now, so it doesnt matter what speed you use anymore.

Haste will be your best friend here. You’ll want all the haste you can get. This applies to all 3 specs, if you choose to venture outside of Outlaw.

You’ll be accepted into any group for mythic based on shroud, sap and blind.
Outlaw has some sick aoe damage.
You’ll definately be happy at max level.

@27, in Subs defense, until you get shadowdance, it seems lame.

I’ve never played Combat/Outlaw so I can’t really comment on the spec.

For leveling I would go with Mut it will be much easier and more fun.

If you want to try Subtlety I think you get Shadow Dance at 40 and MFD at 45. I would stick with Assassination until then for sure.

Good Luck

I came back to wow in late Legion and rolled this rogue as an alt. Didn’t care for it all that much then, as it wasn’t the combat spec I remembered from vanilla/tbc. I love it in bfa though. Outlaw is amazing in M+ especially with the new affix.

And sim your character when you’ve hit 120. Haste is generally not our best stat once you start getting some gear. Current stat priority for me (single target and small cleave): Crit > Vers > Agi > Haste > Mast.

Have fun levelling. They’re such a fun class to play.
