How are legion graphics better? Am I missing something?

This is a pity F*, how does legion have better graphics 6 years later?! I like the physics with flying but two dragons fighting and not a drop of blood.
This game is for 5 year olds

The game engine is centuries old. Really, what do you expect? It’s kind of obvious what you are getting when you sign up to play so if you don’t like it then it’s your own fault.

I barely notice a difference between classic and retail, but my computer sucks so…

I do get way higher fps on classic though.

Um I expect that my higher end PC runs better graphics and yet it’s the opposite. Legion graphics are tiers above this, just go to the zone and it runs better, further distance, looks better…
Game is showing serious decline

Does it have better graphics or do you simply prefer the aesthetic?

It has better graphics objectively. This is bad programming run amuck

I was there 3,000 years ago when you could turn World quests into raids for Legion.

And then I managed to fly over one get stuck in it because it instanced us and none of us could leave because the timer had expired and it was literally zero frames per second with about 200 people in it.

I think the game is simply just unable to keep up with all the new advancements made and maintain some of the quality differences that might have been better in older expansions.

Things were easier to see in legion. The colors from bfa until now blend in too much. The camera doing funky things bringing trees and whatever is behind you Infront of you is the problem. Not sure why they did this. Kind of annoying doing a rotation moving through mechanics while adjusting the camera angle. Not fun in my opinion.

I hardly notice the difference each expansion . The character model change was like the only significant change ever in my book .

What are you even talking about with blood? A cinematic?

But you can turn back time to Legion and find threads of people zooming in on artifacts and armor sets and complaining that “the textures are too low res!” Almost like the game isn’t designed to be hyper-realistic or something.

i too remember the harpies on highmountain constantly clipping through the terrain at all times.

I don’t mind if the game does not do big jumps in graphics every expansion. It is badly needed? I think Legion graphics were pretty good, as well as BFA.

It runs better in those zones because they’re not as graphically intensive. I’m guessing you have your graphics quality set to dynamic (Target FPS enabled). So when you’re in dragonflight zones it’s dropping the quality to allow the game to still hit your desired FPS.

Subjectivity presented as objectivity a compelling argument it does not make.

A guy said once: "players are often right there is something wrong, they are often wrong on what exactly it is ".

Then he goes on to explain the concepts of some stuff and puts forth an example:

At a certain game, the players were complaining about the unbalance of two characters, although no math ever found any unbalance in their powers. No tests, no checks, no metrics, never found any unbalance.
Then, someone from the sound section came up and told that the amp for one of the character’s voice cues was different. They changed it to the same for both, no player ever complained about it again.
