I was going to play Shadow priest but I seen that I have the frozen crown looking transmog so I thought it would be a cool start for a frost mage, but im not sure are they are in PvE and PvP

So others will disagree with me and that’s fine, but do not do frost for pvp. The whole concept behind it is kiting and then blowing them up in shatter combos. Well blizzard in their infinite wisdom gave every class so much mobility, the slows almost don’t matter. Melee is going to be in your face. A lot. It’s just not worth the effort. Go fire and delete players faces.

I’m enjoying frost and find it comparable to the other 2 specs. As for PvP mirror images will do wonders and frost in pvp is getting decent feedback.

would love to have more controlled procs maybe something akin to fire mage each frostbolt grants +5% chance fingers of frost because i counted t and 10 FB w/o proc its feeeeeeel bad

It’s ok. Not my favorite mage spec. But it’s very strong in pve and Pvp situations.

Its low dps is kinda meh. Watching melee gib stuff while you have to face cast isn’t that great.

Mages are debatable. Not terrible, but nowhere near great.
We keep saying we need deepfreeze back , I had hopes blizzard would of by now with all the mobility of other classes and how fragile Frost mage is. smh…

Group DPS we’re really hit or miss. If you can get all your procs off you’re great. If you can’t well you’ll be doing between 1.6-1.8k DPS. The mythic gear that you can get right now isn’t great either for Frost Mages. The gear I’ve gotten so far seems to be focusing on Mastery and Versatility moreso than Haste and Crit. I’ve seen more Master/Versatility paired either together or with Haste or Crit than Haste/Crit combined. It’s really frustrating. I also think we may have to switch to Arcane just because if your Frost Orb is on CD and you need to kill an Add you’re kind of screwed because you need procs to kill things and Frost Bolt for me is at a 1.9 cast which is FOREVER.

Deep freeze feels almost needed sometimes when facing hunters as frost. No matter what it always feels like I’m on the defensive with them unless I can get a jump

i really enjoy frost mage but it’s definitely not the best. Your partner has to be good too as you are not soloing anyone but if you have a good partner it’s usually not too bad. Hunters will dunk on you.
I have to keep switching talents around in order to play well…

Frost has long been my favorite spec in the game, but right now not so much. Frost needs buffs. We barely do enough damage in PVE to hold onto a raid spot and in PVP everything has so much mobility that the primary function of the spec is almost null and void. I switched to Fire, but the moment Blizzard fixes Frost I am switching back.
