Been a Survival/BM Hunter main since Legion, thinking about switching to Unholy/Frost DK in Shadowlands. How are DK’s looking for Mythic+, Heroic raiding and PvP? I use to main 2H Frost back in Pandaria and loved it then.

Frost meh, unholy is good…blood is lacking dps and survivability
Blood doesn’t lack survivability just damage
Solid.
Numbers are subject to change once they finish balance passes.
Unholy will most likely see a nerf.
We bring AMZ, DG, Bres and can immune some mechanics.
We also have access to more mobility now from covenants.
I can’t speak for pvp but Flark put out some great guides posted here in the DK forums.
We lack armour, so yeah we lack survivability.
For instance I have 400 armour …a Druid my level and gear has 9000 armour with iron fur stacks …pally has 3000…Warrior has 3400…monks are 1400
I have never felt particularly squishy after the start of a pull once I have my marrow rend stacks on.
With rune tap to shore up our pulls we are actually very hard to kill now
I don’t really want to educate someone on blood dk that didn’t touch the class at all in bfa on how it works. Armor does not equal survivability, you have to look at the kit. You might also want to read up on what your marrowrend does if you are so caught up on armor stats.
A buff to our base armour or mastery would be well received though
You haven’t played beta I can tell; dk doesn’t need a survivability buff, we need more damage.
Well no I wasn’t invited. I just feel squishier than most other tanks I raid with.
My damage is actually great with rune of sanguination…doing 6k death strikes brings my dps way up more so than fallen crusader
But yeah still way behind Prot and vengeance DHs in dps
Every tank is structured differently, blood is a much more active tank spec if we do nothing we die fast but as long as we are actively trying to stay up its hard to bring us down.
If you want a more passive tank warrior or paladin are more tanky passively but they lack the active tanking options blood has.
