How are all you doing out there, surviving the apocalypse?

I have 3 wonderful adult children, two of whom have handicaps that mean they need constant care at home, so I’m happy, and never lonely, but not in a position to remarry.
And after my experiences i don’t think I could ever have remarried anyway, however wonderful the guy was.

Very true,
I believe in a combination of a grand design and getting off one’s derriere and working towards what you want. We just need to be flexible enough to adapt to what happens, and not mind our plans continually being shattered, lol.

A favourite of mine with a similar message.

You can add up the parts
but you won’t have the sum
You can strike up the march
on your little broken drum
Every heart, every heart
to love will come
but like a refugee
Ring the bells that still can ring
Forget your perfect offering
There is a crack, a crack in everything
That’s how the light gets in.

I am annoyed at China again and regret defending them now given that the WHO let them re-open the Wet Markets that started all this trouble in the first place.

That’s the official story anyway.

You actually made me laugh out loud! Very good Sir (or Madam)

While there is a general consensus that the virus started out with bats, given the 95+% overlap with bat versions, Chinese authorities say the first 40 or so of patients had no direct connection with the Wet markets. Right now no one knows who patient zero was and whether it was possible that a series of asymptomatic individuals kicked it off downstream from the source.

May take months or years to track it all down for certain and we have enough to do in the present with developing vaccines, antibody tests and possible cures to discover. No one in the science community will be bored for a while.

HOW ARE ALL YOU DOING OUT THERE, SURVIVING THE APOCALYPSE?

youngest son was diagnosed with Covid yesterday and is in isolation at the hospital trying to breath without a respirator. Cant have visitors, obviously.
Oldest son is having the exact same symptoms…fever, coughing and labored breathing. not diagnosed, but its pretty obvious at this point.

Just a waiting thing now.

COVID -19 still kills less people than the flu… according to the CDC. And every other major medical team out there. It is actually Sars.

But if the media called it Sars, everyone knows what that is, nobody would panic,no shutdown. I live in California. it is terrible for me here.

I am leveling alts like my life depends on it because it might never be this quick and easy ever again. I’m currently obsessed with getting one of every class to 120 before SL hits.

Well, since I’m a stay-home mother whose kid is no longer in school, and since I work part-time for my church, which is no longer meeting in-person…I’m bored.

I’m trying to stay motivated, but my sleep schedule is totally jacked, my normal routines have been vaporized. You know…the usual that everyone is dealing with. We are extremely fortunate in that our financial situation has not been endangered by this, so I am trying to be grateful and just find ways to help instead of feeling sorry for myself. We’re all in it together, right?

A wet market is just a market where fresh produce is sold. The Wuhan market needed to be reopened because people were left starving during the lock-down, and they will be dying of starvation without the food supplies restored.

Of course the live wildlife stalls should be banned, but the rest needed to be reopened.

University of Melbourne Chinese Studies lecturer Delia Lin said there is a “genuine linguistic misunderstanding” of what wet markets actually are.

“The term has been politically charged in the west and has been associated with coronavirus cover-ups and wildlife trading,” Dr Lin told SBS News.

“In China people would think that is absurd. Wet markets in China are more like a farmers’ market in Australia.”

Dr Lin, who lived in Wuhan until 1997, said there were a small number of Chinese markets dangerously trading in live animals.

“I grew up in Wuhan and people hate all those sorts of things.

“They are disgusted with wildlife trading. There’s only a tiny minority of people consuming that.”

SARS is not the name of a virus, it’s the name of a particular lung condition and this coronavirus, named SARS-CoV-2, can lead to Covid-19 which is one of several conditions which can potentially cause SARS.

Perhaps if you check out this site:
and try to understand the implications of the graphs there, you might begin to understand why authorities are concerned about what will happen without social distancing.

We are hearing world-wide reports of overcrowded hospitals, patients dying in hallways because there are no beds available, medical staff catching this and getting ill and dying, nursing homes suddenly losing large numbers to this, ill people being told to stay home without treatment because there are not enough hospital beds, and problems worldwide with the disposal of so many bodies.

Currently in America there are over half a million active, diagnosed cases of Covid-19.
Of the 63,339 closed cases only 38,144 have recovered, while 25,195 have died. That’s a 60:40 ratio.

If we extrapolate that to the 540,157 active patients, we get over 206,000 more deaths. That’s just what America can expect in the next 2-4 weeks.

The infection rate is not going down and the hospital situation is worsening, so that death toll is going to be increasing for quite a while yet.

As for the CDC or any other “major medical team” saying, “COVID -19 still kills less people than the flu”, source please? Even Fox News is no longer saying that.

Everything that’s happening in the world is just a hiccup, next year it will all be over and people will be wondering what all the fuss was about.

They will fix it all up soon

I’m sorry you and your children are going through this.
At least your children are young enough to have good chances of recovery.
Good luck to you all.

Really not fun. Ive been texting my youngest all day checking to see how hes doing. Theyve offered him oxygen but hes not taking any so far. Not getting better or worse, so I guess thats a plus.
Oldest son is just going in today to be tested. Has the symptoms though, so its probably going to be Covid.
Daughter is freaking out about her brothers.
Their mother is flipping out.
Just not a fun time. for sure.
Trying to keep my brain from hitting overload, typing in here and pacing the house here, lol

I know what it’s like to be helpless to do anything when your own children are in danger, and the isolation would make it even worse. At least, (years back,) when mine were in danger I could be there with them.

I hope you can keep us updated.

He did just give an update. The Xray he got doesnt seem to be showing anything having gotten worse so far.
anything thats not worse is better than nothing in my book.
