I haven’t seen 2, but I agree with your sentiment about the original.
You are doing a dis-serviceto yourself.

I’m glad I moved to a country with healthcare and a gov that really helps its people before all this happened. I miss the US though.
The idea of it is nice…the actual practice though…
Yeah. I’d move back if it got healthcare and a gov that cared.
Not much changed for me here in Ontario, almost everything is considered essential services. Even if we go in to total shutdown, I will have to go to work as I have to keep network & servers running no matter what.
That being said there is not much that can get me windup, except for my wife of 30 years. We both have been though actual war in early 90’s and we always have a t least one month worth of supplies.
As this is gonna take at least couple of months and my better half has an underlined condition (high blood pressure but she can smoke - go figure) I did brief run to Costco this morning and get more supplies that should last us at least couple of months. Obviously, some things are not in stock and one being popcorn and decided not to get the ice cream as freezer space is needed for the actual food.
Needless to say, first complaint was why did I buy so much as it may not fit in to a freezers and then she kept going on how I did not want to buy a fudging ice cream… I swear she is sometimes fudging witch from which there is no escape but can’t leave with her
1: Leveling AR alts to get the heritage armor I want. KT done, working on Velf. Might do DIDwarf but dunno. Have no interest in Spacegoats light or Mechamidges.
2: Working from home, its a bit reduced hour wise but luckily with my VA disability and being able to work i still do really well
Sits safely offshore in her fav langskip
Skäl
Goes back to checking her fishing lines
well… things didn’t go great today.
it was meant to be my last appointment.
instead, i ended up having 2 biopsies done… and have to keep fingers crossed until results come back.
biopsy sites are quite uncomfortable
if that wasn’t bad enough, the lovely landlord decided to increase rent.

I hate that, man. HEY, I just thought of something…
Look at the news, I’m FAIRLY SURE you could call the fair housing/whatever, in your area. I’m pretty sure raising your rent during a crisis like this is frowned upon?
Then I might call your local news channel, if one has a “we can help” whatever thing they do. Two biopsies, the current crisis, rent being raised? Some landlords are being pretty liberal about the rent, right now. It is even suggested to do so.
“Excellent advice.”
I’m just glad I’m not suicidal anymore. I’m not sure how I would have handled this!
So far I’ve only got the flu and not coronavirus so I guess I should be happy?
Strangely, one cure for suicidal depression is actual danger.
How do you know? Unless you’ve had the specific test done, even your doctor has no way of knowing.
People get a wide range of symptoms from SARS-CoV-2, but the one thing most have in common is it hits them no worse than the flu - if they are even aware they had it. So you might be now immune and perfectly safe from it. ![]()
This isn’t to downplay the virus, it’s going to be devastating to too many, which is why it’s vital we avoid other people as much as is reasonably possible, or as much as we are ordered to. Because the big problem isn’t that everyone with it will die - only a very small proportion will.
The problem is the huge numbers who will become infected, so even the 10% - 20% who will need medical treatment to pull them through won’t have access to treatment if too many get sick at once.
I hope you can soon tell us they both came back negative.
Well, we scored some toilet paper at an almost empty Walmart last night! And I will undoubtedly make my reading goal of 80 books this year! Things aren’t all bad.
But I worry about the small businesses in my little town. Like we have a gaming store and they had just moved into a bigger space. I worry they won’t make it. Our book store. Our coffee shop. And of course all the little lakeside motels and such if this goes on will be empty.
I’m in New Jersey where its the second most affected state in the most affected country and I got to say, at first I was really scared and nervous but after some time passed it became less scary really the more people started taking it seriously like other countries that are starting to recover. Really just have to wait it out and hope some major changes take place in the world, our culture and how we view others with the responsibility we all have to help each other out.
there was an outlier case where the person is said to have had almost a month long incubation period… they think this person had a re-infection.
they’re still not exactly how this thing works.
…but if antibody testing is being done anywhere, it would be worth looking into.
me too.
…but my history is telling me to not get my hopes up.
last night i just kind of resigned myself to thinking “oh well, at least i get to go to the NICE hospital, with lovely staff who aren’t overworked and over-stressed, and get to stay in a private room, where I’m allowed to have a fan, plus free coffee down the hall.” ![]()
(always look on the bright side of life, right?)
…and then I launched into my morbid humor, with stuff like “oh well, if the virus kills me first, I won’t have to go through the excruciating recovery again!” ![]()
Coronavirus reinfection THREAT: China and Japan see patients catch deadly virus twice
UPDATED: Mar 16, 2020In mainland China, where the outbreak originated and where the majority of cases occurred, there have been more than 100 reported cases of patients released from hospitals after recovering only to return later and testing positive for the coronavirus a second time.
In at least one instance, a 36-year-old man died earlier in Wuhan, China, the epicentre of the outbreak, five days after health officials declared he had recovered and discharged him from the hospital.
In China’s Guangdong province, health officials said 14 percent of people who recovered in the province who were later retested were positive.
Similar cases have been reported in Japan and South Korea.
Snopes has quotes from a bunch of experts explaining how the tests could have been incorrect.

So - interesting speculation, but too early as yet to know what’s going on.
I’m sure there are a lot of players here who, like me, wish you well from the bottom of our hearts.
I haven’t been out since the pandemic started. I’m immunocompromised, so I have to stay away from others. Luckily for me I live alone and don’t have to worry about that. Delivery brings me every thing I need. I make sure to wipe off any of the packaging and i’m good to go.
