Which, btw blizzarrd, was a horrible, terrible design decision. I assume they reused the code for covenants or it conflicted somehow with the covenant system, because we never got an explanation or resolution to this problem.
For who is wondering, you used to be able to champion a random pandaria faction to increase reputation gains with them or divert all extra gains to them.
It added nothing to the game to remove this feature and we never got it back. It was basically better tabards and the dailies and quests DO NOT give much rep. Like I loremastered pandaria already but when I go do most quests there I get like 25 or 50 rep per quest. That is too long and I refuse to believe that it was an intended outcome or improvement in anyway.
I have sort of imagined I will have to basically slave away during time walking week for pandaria so I can spend the badges on reputation tokens at the vendors. But I don’t know man it just seems like there should be a better system for this or alternative. I am about to start the achievement grinding for the continent and besides the dread of doing WoD stuff, I am concerned pandaria will take like 3 times as long as any other expansion because of this awful revision to the system.
I remember when SL dropped I was actually going back to start this but I noticed this change and left. Now I am getting back to it and I am finding that blizzard has not provided any sort of remedy for this system. I guess we can just say “it’s old content so who cares,” but I would have really appreciated this system or some sort of replacement for it. Time walking is the next best resolution that I can find because the reputation grinds from just spamming the TW dungeons seems faster than waiting on dailies that give an abysmal amount of reputation.
FYI A few additional ways to get rep for MoP:
-Camp the Zandalari Warbringer and Warscouts in each zone. They drop a BoA rep token, and mounts/gold/older crafting resources which might sell.
-Darkmoon Faire when active has a 10% buff to rep from riding the carousel. Last an hour, set your hearth to an MoP zone get buff and do those dailies.
-During the Timewalking event, you can use the badges to buy rep. These badges are also BoA, (i.e. do even one run on an alt for the 500 badges) however, you can only buy rep for whichever expansion is being revisited. The bages cost 25 timewalking badges each.
-Depending on rep, like Shao-Hao, look for groups, or form one. If you have the cloak, go to the elites by Ordos.
-Do on human for the diplomacy bonus.
-I don’t think you can use a tabard but raids might give rep to a certain point like honored.
-Wowhead MoP reputation guide walk through might contain other ideas.
-Have you completed each zone for questing? A pain, but might yield rep, sorry it’s been 10+ years since this was active and I cared. Might take an alt through each zone if the slog sucks. Level 10 monks seems to be everywhere and dominating older content.
-War Mode give rep? Worth a look.
The Best of luck. It sucks and it’s slow, but the rewards are worth it and shouldn’t take too long with something leveled.
Belleossa is right. I got this character to exalted on most of the panda reps by getting these several times a day for a week or so. Lorewalker takes maybe 20 minutes, Tillers is easy but I got it because I had to max out panda cooking. The Anglers is a bit more time consuming, will probably use TW tokens. I did Cloud Serpents dailies which was pretty easy. Kirin Tor is slow as I’m just raising it via the Tillers farming daily.
So it’s not impossible.
warbingers are camped literally to death and have a long spawn timer. Maybe if I ever do ALL the pandaren dailies there are to do I will do that but for now it’s not exactly practical for me to camp a bunch of warbingers. Also I think blizzard did buff the reps at some point. A single daily gave me like 1600 rep, so maybe they balanced the bad idea with just bigger numbers
