You never had to do any dailies, not even back then. And especially not on alts. You just did lfr or later timeless isle lmao
They added a lot of catchup to the cloak. At some point it was possible to get your entire cloak within 2 months or so which is much, much better than Shadowmourne, Valanyr, or literally any other legendary in their original state. It was a significant improvement.
