How accurate is wowanalytica?

I refuse to believe that balance druid, bm hunter, and ret pally are the top three most played classes on my server. I might believe bm hunter, but definitely not the other two
How often are the statistics on this site actually updated?

If I had to guess, they’re probably just using the Blizzard API to query for data? Idk how they pull it exactly, but it’s more than likely automated.

Looking at the “highest avg ilvl” really makes the information questionable. The highest avg ilvl is still from SLs (?)…and it wasn’t even very good for that expansion.

Also, Blizz broke all census capabilities so it is impossible to get a true accurate count of anything. Since this site doesn’t state its data source, I wouldn’t trust it at all.

Another interesting observation about that website is that they haven’t updated their news feed since November 2022.

Most people have alts they leveled throughout SL that they haven’t touched in DF yet. If you have 1 main and 12 alts your accounts average IL will swing way closer to the IL of the alts. Most of these sites tend to be way off in their numbers due to this. They use every toon instead of every actively played toon

Right. But wouldn’t that put them in the “Avg ilvl” category, which the sight says is about 150-170ilvl range?

Based on the fact that we news feed hasn’t been updated since November and SL ilvls are still being displayed…I would say the site is dead.

It does explain it. I have alts that I stopped playing when they were leveled half way to max. I assume every account has a few toons like that. It just so happens to be the average IL of all these toons combined is 150-170
