Is there any actual downside of making the love tokens account wide? I think all the rewards we can get are account wide, so let us earn them across the account?
This is a once-a-year event, its not like it happens every week after all.

Not to mention people are still putting their time into the game.
- Time into game = Reward for time spent.
Along with
- Effort spent pushing content = Reward for efforts
Equals = Good game ethic.
I seriously don’t get why people act so vehemently offended by that concept all the time on the forums.
— It seems many want rewards removed from fair challenges, yet don’t want a free hand-over, yet don’t want limited time rewards although at the same time don’t want previous limited time rewards to be made available again. The players on these forums are walking contradictions, I swear. lol
I wouldn’t mind this since I’m an altaholic but it would put people who only play one or few characters at a major disadvantage.

All the items are account wide, what does it matter if the currency isn’t account wide?

How? Sorry, I’m not getting it. Right now people who play one or two characters are at a major disadvantage. You can only earn so many of them. If you play limited characters you have to put in that much more effort, and that impacts on what other aspects of the game you can play. There are only 24 hours in a day, y’know.
1 or 2 characters - disadvantage.
Multiple characters - disadvantage (because you are working on multiple characters in the game on other activities and possibly can’t devote the time to concentrate on one thing). BUT if you could do your daily Crown Chemicals, do some of the event activities while doing other things, the tokens would add up.

The obvious answer is that the introduction quest gives around 150 tokens, so players with 1-2 characters would be limited to 150-300 from the intro while those with 10 would have 1500
If Blizz did what you are suggesting, they would probably inpliment an account wide daily cap.

Possibly true, if there are a lot of players with 2 characters, in a game which allows a huge number of alts. I realise some people concentrate on a main but how people never make any alts at all?
Anyhow, all that aside, if that is the only downer for the idea, I still think its a good one. And nowadays characters from level 10 upwards can queue for the CC dungeon each day, for example, and I believe most holiday activities - if not all, I didnt check everything - is available to most character levels.
This is immediately what I thought I’d do, and then not play the event anymore lmao
Knee: If they do this, they would also need to rebalance reward costs to be higher. Which would just suck for people who play one character, because alt playing would be mandatory if you want to get rewards in a reasonable amount of time T.T
Unless you’re suggesting it so you can muck it like I suggested above, then all power to you

I still think making the currency account wide would benefit the majority of players but … I dunno, leave it the way it is, I guess. shrugs Maybe there always is a downside.
You’ll get everything in one day. They want people going back to the event every day.
This is what people asked for: put mounts and cool things on a vendor for high prices that we have to spend the entire event getting and will still have things left to get next year.

But that’s how it works now you just can’t share them. I don’t think it’s possible for someone to fully complete this event on one toon. Meanwhile I can run 4 alts through it so that they can all buy everything separately before the event is over.
Am I missing something? I really don’t see a big difference here.

Sort of, but not exactly. The mount costs 270 tokens which requires you to do the intro quest and multiple tasks throughout the event to afford it. Having multiple characters doesnt help…but with the OPs suggestion you could afford it by doing 2 intro quests and buy it on day one.
Same thing with the love boat.
Granted there still is benefit to running multiple alts, but it still requires multiple days of effort on multiple characters vs. Just logging into 10 alts and being done on day one.

The thing is, right now, you’re running the event for its entire duration and not just one day. And you still may not get everything.
If you did it with account wide currency, you’d be done in an hour.

It keeps the event lively.
This is literally what some of us asked for: put this kind of stuff on the vendor for high amounts of currency that’ll take the entire duration of the event to get, instead of low droprates.
I much prefer this. And the event is fun!
I guess you could call it “time gated”…but I think calling it a more equitable system is probably a better description and Blizz’s goal. The major rewards will take the same amount of time/effort regardless of how many toons you have or how long you play. Well, more than 2 toons anyway.
i got most of the things i wanted already. just need the other flower mogs for the hair and im done. dont really care about the mount or pet. i did get that gas mask in the dungeon, thought it was funny
They kind of already are anyways, since you can’t just grind the tokens out anymore so you’re capped on how many it’s possible to get on one character while the event is active.
If you want to buy everything, you’re gonna have to be running alts or wait for multiple years.
For me, I’m after both mounts. I never got the old one, because I’m not really of fan of featherless chicken. But it’s a plus one to the collection and I’m now 60 mounts away from the flying sparkle otter.
And I’d love to get the new boat toy too!
I spent all of my tokens on one character the first day when I bought all of the roses. lol
