To be honest I’m not sure why Warlocks have Void Walker in the first place
I hope they expand the Demon customization a lot more now that its in the barber shop.

Before blizzard went on the Fel train. Warlocks used to just be Mages/Shamans/whatever that used death magic, elemental magic, void magic, arcane magic ect… Then they empowered normal spells with Souls(anima) and fel magic to empower everything. Making it more destructive.
The Mists green fire questline showed how warlocks used to be in Lore traveling the world and fighting powerful people to learn their skills. (illidan,Ragnaros,Deathwing ect…) It seems blizz forgot all that or decided to ignore it and went a more focused version that only uses 3 types of magic. Soul,Demon,Fel. So now Void doesn’t really make sense.
As far as more skins yes please! Though I wish they would do a Demon overhaul with its own talent trees so we can pick and choose demons. Id love to use more then just Imp/Felhound/Felgaurd.

Agreed…VW does seem a bit displaced. Not only thematically, but also functionally.
Warlock theme and lore could use a bit of love, but it’s the best it’s been for a while. Since probably MoP. Demo theme is great. Destro is alright. Affliction is meh and its identity could be ironed out more.
I would love for them to start with reevaluating the agency each spec has with the demons. Having a demon out on anything other than Demo feels a little weird at the moment.

They should belong to Shadow Priests, I guess? Back in the day, all the evils were a bit more wrapped up in each other, and Warlocks were just the evil juju spell-casters.

Ever since Chronicle, I’ve always just assumed they were related to the demons who were using the Void that Sargeras discovered and tipped him off to the Void Lords in the first place.

Prior to the Void being introduced, Void Walkers were classified as Demons, after the Void was introduced in lore that classification was changed. Still makes sense when you take into account Shadowmoon Warlocks and the origin of Warlocks on Draenor. (Shadowmoon Orc Warlocks on Draenor used Shadow magic and necromancy prior to the Legion turning them to Fel as a source of magic)

Not like it matters too much. Demo uses felguard always, Aff sacrifices it’s pet, and destruction uses succubus for damage or dreadstalker for the interrupt.
The only time voidwalkers see the light of day is when a faux tank is needed, and they aren’t even very good at that anymore.
I spend most of my time soloing, so unfortunately I use the Voidwalker the most, even though it’s my least favorite minion lol

I always solo as well. Most things die fast enough that having a faux tank is unnecessary and the things that do require that kind of tank destroy the voidwalker. Better to just kill things faster in my experience.
To be fair our experiences may be vastly different because I haven’t bought Dragonflight yet (recently returned from a 2 years break), but all I know is: I did the Zereth Mortis campaign today with a fresh level 60 toon and my Voidwalker wasn’t just considerably sturdier than me, he was pretty much necessary. I couldn’t even count how many times he saved my bacon today lol

Could be different I suppose. I just use my felguard to tank as a demo. Never felt like anything lived long enough to play the other two in the open world
