I watched someone getting murdered in the Lamb the other night. That was fun. We are truly blessed to have a community that welcomes such activities with open arms.
it’s a great scene where my vulpera death knight is spilling his heart to a kind ear about how wack his life is now that he’s undead and mumble mumble no spoilers
I saw you in the river tonight! You came across Bates helping a Night Elf that had been ganked and floated down river, to answer any confusion you had to why there were two elves and human and a ghost randomly on the riverbank between Duskwood and Elywnn.
As to what I’ve been doing that’s fun recently, been playing a minor villain role in the Wolf Cult’s Revendreth campaign on an alt, that’s been really fun. AND! Bate’s one year anniversary is fast approaching! I’m considering hosting a little something to celebrate.
The other day I was hanging in the Barrens and three Orcs came by asking for directions.
Now, this is interesting because there have been quite a few actual people lately actually asking for directions. Most RPers do not ask for directions.
I found out later OOCly that this group of Orcs were headed south to start a new village.
They were an interesting trio- some farmers and a warrior who just wanted to know the best way to bridge the divide. They weren’t aware of the armistice or the Overgrowth. Lance didn’t mention the ghouls or scourge as there’s only so much a simple farmer can take at once. Naturally he suggested to take the road south near Northwatch and the Rageroar camp. They tried to pay him with a few coppers and were surprised when he denied the payment.
It was a good interaction made better because it was unexpected, and I’m glad I was online for it.
I’ve actually found Shadowlands to be poor for Shadowlands-related RP and great for everything else.
I love, love, love how common it is to see people adding “You may know this character if you…” sections to their profiles. It gives a great hook to sink into. I feel like with the dearth of “proper” lore, a lot of people feel more comfortable doing their own thing and I couldn’t be happier about it.
Well, I could, but everyone would have to be wearing fancy hats.
Someone tried to hit on my character, even though she explained that she’s in mourning and not interested. That sucked, but some of the bystanders that witnessed the interaction then engaged in RP with me, and I ended up meeting some new, cool people from it. The whole experience made me think I might want to start trying walk-ups again. I hadn’t done them in so long that I’d forgotten how refreshing it is to RP with different people from time to time.
I met so many interesting people during the scourge invasion event while we were protecting the various capitol cities from zombies! Having to work together just to survive forged some very unlikely bonds of friendship, and since it was happening on our home turf then characteres who normally don’t seek out conflict were able to join in!
Far be it from someone unsubbed to add commentary but I’m doing it anyways because Blizzard refuses to stop me.
Though it’s a little far back now, I remember my first longstanding efforts into RP were at a little player run ice cream place operating out of one of the empty buildings in Stormwind. It’s not so much the RP itself, quaint and low pressure as it was, as the people who were willing to put up through both my struggles in the art as well as my poor communication skills.
My attitude has hardly improved since then, but I’ve never struggled to get involved with RP. Find it, maybe, but inevitably everybody is out here for the same thing and it shows. It’s obviously not a 100% efficiency operation, but gods be damned if this place isn’t effectively stuffed full of folk just looking to interact or lend a hand.
A shadow priest on a trial account stood on me last night with the OOC tag “If I’m standing on you, you are being observed.”
I invited them in like a vampire into my home by whispering them and I got some pretty fun RP out of it in the Wyvern’s Tail where everyone thought Altielle was going nuts but she was just responding to spooky whispers.
Haven’t been RPing much lately. It was a really nice thing to come back to, got me interested in coming back to the RP scene again.
I had fun the other night when I ran briefly into Otielle’s character, who has a talking/sentient sword.
Anyway so one of my guildies, a Forsaken Priest, really doesn’t understand magic IC and despite Sarestha trying to explain to him otherwise… he spent much of the rest of the night trying to convince his “Shy” priest staff to talk to him.
Sometimes little silly moments among the serious can be really quite enjoyable.
the sword’s name is Stabitha and her dream is to stab the Titans. she thinks living are gross because they have icky fluids and flesh and stuff, and she’s happy being a sword thank you very much.
I personally find Cross-faction RP on WrA to be the uno-reverse card of Blizzard Lore for Alliance.
So, lore wise it is the worgen and night elves who are justified in being super angry with anyone in red and would be the most abrasive. In most x-faction RP I’ve done on Loh, including one recently, Night Elves have been extremely civil to the point where the guild who RPs angry elves are still relatively chill. Most the aggro people in blue i find in RP are human RPers with Worgen RPers being 50/50 on aggro or civil.
I will not say dwarves are aggro or passive because that would go in the book. Don’t end up in the book.
