I’m looking to bring back my warlock as my main in SL and have been really interested in demo.
My first question is how demo is doing on live right now, and second is how it’s gearing up in SL. I see a lot of hype about affliction but not much else.

Live doesn’t matter since prepatch comes in like, at most 1 month, maybe less
Tuning isn’t finalized atm so also kinda hard to speculate
But
Demo in SL has two main builds at the moment:
Big Tyrant Build =
- Demonic Consumption was changed from being based on imp energy levels to health of all demons out
- which in turn “requires” taking Grimoire: Felguard and Vilefiend talents since they out-health imps and dogs
- Will probably be Demo’s strongest Single Target Build
Big Dog Build =
- From The Shadows talent causes dog bite to make the target take more Shadowflame damage (Demonbolt, HoG, Implosion)
- Dreadlash talent causes dog bite to be AOE, so From The Shadows is AOE applied
- Carnivorous Stalkers potency (DPS) soulbind has an 8-15% chance for dogs to bite twice (depends on soulbind level), so more bite AOE
- Tyrants Soul potency (DPS) soulbind causes a 10-25% damage increase of demons once the Tyrant expires (depends on soulbind level), so stronger dogs
- Grim Inquisitor’s Dread Calling legendary (neck or wrist) lets each soul shard spent on Hand of Gul’dan to make the next Dreadbite from dogs do 3% more damage per soul shard, so stronger AOE bite
- This concludes in super powerful AOE dogs that buff your Implosion’s AOE and HoG’s splash damage
