So, currently on the PTR housing is just scaled down garrisons?

Each house being separately instanced on the inside, and heavily controlled even on outside access it appears… is probably one of the things that Blizz actually got right in the housing implementation.

How many flipping times do you have to be told its not Garrisons now…its totally different then garrisons…Garrisons were and still Static displays only with no way to change the looks or colors or move furniture were you wanted it …this new housing you can do that now…sure it starts out small with only two models right to use but it can grow easily as time goes by…

I couldn’t figure out how to scale anything. That and the item selection was limited. Was fine.
If you think they are scaled down when they have 1000x more customizations than a Garrison where the most you could do is change building position and a stupid statue… You need to open your eyes.

They haven’t even likely tested it. A steamed broccoli could tell housing is beyond better than garrisons were its like an actual house vs a rock with a hole. Lol

This is how it works. There isn’t a way to change this. The servers cannot load and keep track of every single item in every single house at the exact same time. It’s not possible.

Ohhh YES you can customize your house inside and outside…I had 6 additional rooms added on to mine in the PTR…had covered well outside…a Funky dangerous looking Rocket sit in the corner…a nice with water in it Fountain on the outside…had a Octagon room as one of my new added on rooms…had two story room with staircase…you’d be surprised to what you can do with this new Housing in WoW.

Its so freaking funny how so many nay sayers keep saying its Garrison 2 and won’t work or can’t be customized and you and others throw out pictures from this past weekend of the Housing in the PTR and just proves them wrong over and over and over.

I start to get the impression that the people saying “oh this is just Garrisons again” are just using the word “Garrison” as a buzzword… when in reality one of the things Blizz is most scared of is the new Housing becoming “Garrisons” again.

Well, as others have noted, this was more of a stress test and making sure the functions actually worked (and can confirm that some basic stuff wasn’t working, hence plenty of bug reports from those of us that actually understand the point of the PTR and Alpha/Beta testing)
With that said, one CAN do plenty of exterior/interior work once they got a feel for the system.

You started with a false premise that somehow WoW was supposed to be a Minecraft type terraforming game. When people rejected that, you tried the “but you can’t customize anything” tact. People soundly rejected that too. You tried to pretend people could not interact with others outside their home, - false as well.
We are getting exactly what MMO housing is marketed as, and more customizable than average.
You really ARE bad at all this. The only thing you have successfully done is get people to bite the bait.
Housing in WoW is pretty awesome. There are improvements needed in some of the controls, lighting, etc, but that will come.
Yes, this is a GAME. These are pretend characters that fight pretend dragons and live in pretend houses in pretend outfits we put on them. And we like it that way, just like we have for 20+ years.
Tilt at pretend windmills if you like, but it is no different than slaying pretend dragons in a pretend world. A game. A dollhouse. A made up land of adventures.
