I’m still waiting to understand what the point of player housing is. Is this just pure novelty value or do you get extra storage space for stuff? Does it actually serve a purpose? Is it fully instanced or can you see other player’s houses? etc.

I almost never use my bank, but my heart goes out to those that do and this happened to them.
Huge ouch, and I’d be very hurt by the company not doing anything about it.
If I hoarded TGC items or some very valuable stuff in there, I think that’d be the nail in the coffin for me.

I can’t speak for others, but for me the point is the house itself. I love spending hours decorating them and seeing what I can come up with. Different layouts, interesting designs, etc. It is fun to be able to make a space your own and build a forest or a grand library or something.

Would it be a problem if that’s all it was? Transmog is pure novelty, but I’d say it’s pretty popular.
The are lots of things in the game that serve no purpose but add to the overall immersion of the world. There is no practical purpose that our characters can interact with and sit in chairs, but it would probably feel weird if we couldn’t.

Your post seems very defensive. I’m not for or against player housing, I’m simply trying to understand what the purpose is. If the answer is that there is no purpose, and it’s 100% novelty value, then that’s fine too - it means that I can ignore it and focus my time on things that matter.
