Housing 101: Getting Started

To clarify, it’s 10 different battle.net accounts, correct?

As opposed to 10 accounts within the same bnet account (characters are all within the same warband).

Correct. You need 9 other people, not including yourself, to make a charter. It works on the same concept as starting a guild.

It’s 10 seperate WoW accounts not Battle Net accounts.

It’s simple. I don’t have a great interest in housing. I don’t want to spend a lot of my game time with it. I prefer to engage in other game content. OK?

Only the devs know & they didn’t say

Didn’t read through the entire thread to see if it’s been asked, but in the tutorial video, the X Y Z axes during rotation are properly colored. Is that an upcoming improvement from the current beta version, where all 3 are just white in color?

Some people will complain vehemently about anything and everything. Ugh. Hate to see it in this forum, especially because this is going to end up 100x expectations could ever have been before we got the full picture of housing.

ANYWAYS.

I’ve been searching and can’t really find much, but what exactly, other than the vague “collect new decor items” and “do neighborhood endeavors”, will level up your housing progression? I would like to find some specifics on it but I haven’t found any so far.

How many experience points do you need to go from level 1 to 2, for instance?

How many new decor items will you need to get that much experience?

Do all decor items give the same amount of experience?

Do you also get experience from gaining achievement decor items on day 1?

I have lots of questions. If anyone that did the beta knows the answers to these questions, please let me know.

Your guild name checks out.

I thought I saw tri-colored axis the last time I played beta…. Could be misremembering though.

I think the first reply is correct… it has to be 9 different people or at least 9 other accounts each with their own separate subscription for Retail. When I look in my account settings I see different “accounts” for WoW1 for Retail and WoW2 for PTR/Beta, but those are the same Battle.net account.

Subsequently I think you need 10 separate Battle.net accounts (each with it’s own subscription for Retail). Creating WoW1 through WoW10 on a single bNet account is not going to get your a Guild Neighborhood Charter (don’t even think that’s possible).

Hopefully the dev-build that they did that video with is ahead of the Beta (and fixes bugs that are def still on Beta for housing). I just checked the Beta and it’s still 3 white lines/curves.

You would only need 2 Battle.net accounts since you can have up 8 WoW account’s on a single Battle.net account. I currently have a total of 6 with only 1 currently active. You can sign your own Guild Charters with different WoW accounts under the same Battle.net account… I’ve done it numerous times. I don’t think a Guild Neighborhood Charter will be any different other than having to maintain subs on all 10 accounts.

There’s no charter. You just talk to the NPC, give them the name for the neighbourhood, and then they create it for you or they don’t, based on amount of people in the guild and their activity.

If you have 10 different people in your guild, but 3 haven’t played in 6 months you won’t be able to make a neighbourhood. Everyone needs to have been active in the last 3 months I think it was.

Good to know. Thanks

I get where you are coming from. I hate nag quests that you pretty much “have to accept”. That should be an option you can turn off. They could make it on by default and those who don’t like it can turn it off.

If I decline a request then that is it, it should not automatically pop up again. I get that for some folks these are great but for me, I am not a fan of them.

Is there a place where I can add a few sentences or a paragraph of lore to my guild neighborhood, to help it feel more immersive?

No, there is not.

Great suggestion tho!

Is housing going to be baseline across all expacs, or do we have to prepurchase Midnight to start on it after reset?

Yes
