Hype matters more than reality to Blizz.
I like how they completely glossed over the customization of the home for Race Specific Outside themes, because itâs still not even within the Beta or the PTR.
Makes you wonder if thatâs going to end up being scrapped content, and youâll either have Orc or Human Outsides. Just like with what happened with the Garrisonâs. Initially stated to be able to change the look of the Garrison to your raceâs architecture, only to be stuck with Orc and Humans forever because it was scrapped.
If it was going to be implemented, youâd think they would have at least stated the same thing that was stated throughout the video of âMore on that laterâ. Since even that wasnât stated, it really drives me to believe its going to be scrapped or not even available at the launch of Midnight and made available at some later date/time (if ever).
Night and Blood Elf exteriors will be available on the next beta build to test. They wonât be part of housing early access but when 12.0 launches.
Itâs clear that housing is only at the beginning. The creativity of the community has been amazing so far! This is evergreen content and weâre likely going to see new stuff added in every patch going forward.
I wish I had your optimism
Where was this stated?
Itâs like a child stomping their feet and yelling âNo I wonât and you canât make meâ.
When they first announced beta, it said Night and Blood Elf exteriors week 2-3. Weâre currently on 2, so it sould be in the next 1.
As for the exteriors being in 12.0, it was from a dev on X last week.
Itâs on top of the constant spam of the DF and TWW quests that most of my alts (that Iâm not ready to do DF or TWW on) get constantly spammed with.
âPush questsâ are one of the most idiotic things Blizz has ever come up with, and it comes on top of every other thing about Housing that makes it antithetical to what Housing should be.
If I had $150 a month to blow I would absolutely have my own Private or Guild neighborhood. ![]()
Really looking forward to making mine on Tuesday. Weâre planning our X-Mas event to be in someoneâs house. Sheâs going to decorate for the occassion.
So strange seeing BBA doing a shot!
Didnât I read an article yesterday or the day before that had a paragraph telling us we need to start gathering mats and leveling up crafting skills in all previous expansions to properly craft all the thing we will need? Itâs a stupendous amount of work to do that.
Itâs all over the place.
Some things like dyes evidently need kinda any old ingredient⌠some things are very specific and maybe even need currencies or reps that youâll never realistically be able to grind again because no one does the group or PVP or whatever content it comes from.
But itâll be so great for those few players who corner the market on crafted goods.
I canât wait to pay out the nose if I want to dye things Blue because Iâll have to buy the Blue dye for every single item I wish to have blue. /s
I really am disliking the whole notion of âBuy multiples of everythingâ if you need it. The housing decoration system should work just like Transmog. I unlock the appearance, I use the appearance. But that wouldnât fit into their new Hearthsteel model where they can MTX the entire experience.
People will flood the market, everything will be cheap. Just save dying the furniture until youâre done with the layout.
Thatâs how housing works in most games.
Yes, in that same article they were also talking about earning massive amounts of obsolete currencies like apexis crystals and war resources, as well as earning exalted rep on old factions to be able to buy stuff.
Theyâre actually giving me a direct incentive not to buy the expansion. Iâm amazed. Itâs going to feel so good to sell old junk to players who canât get off the hamster wheel.
Itâs 10 unique accounts to validate a Guild or Private Charter for a Neighborhood.
All your alts share a single house in Alliance and a single house in Horde. Each account gets exactly those two houses and no more.
Iâve been telling people that, and I know streamers have been since housing dropped into beta
I had heard a little bit about it previously. But all in the same article, and Blizzard was bragging about how much work players were going to have to do to buy stuff. As if players were going to find that exciting rather than a hype-killing grind.
It took my hunter literally years to earn Black Prince rep at 1 kill per week.
