House of the dragons confirmed season 2

Lol you serious? Best thing WB ever did was the first thing their new owners did for them when everything went through and canceled all those horrible low quality and toxicity themed mental illnesses of a franchise. Burn it all down. They all suck, theyre all terrible. Please. I have patiently waited like 10 years for it to all die and be replaced with something with less emphasis on he said she said bisexual highschool drama crap. Let. It. Die.

They also got rid of 200 episodes of Sesame Street and multiple Cartoon Network shows that may never be streamed again. And lets not forget that they will no longer be streaming movies 45 days after their theatric releases.

But thanks for sharing that horrible take, I now know what to expect from your future comments.

No problem! Happy to help. Also, couldn’t care less about cartoon network cartoons, but which episodes of sesame street did they yoink? I hope it wasn’t those old giancarlo Esposito episodes from the 70s…

Dragon egg on your face!

I recently subscribed to HBO Max, and was thrilled to see Space Ghost Coast to Coast! I saw a few episodes. Classic theme song :

That was peak Cartoon network.

Definitely! Loved that show. But you know, it just doesn’t really compare to the original. Over time I saw a somewhat tiring trend of taking older cartoons that were of low quality but were based on genuinely great ideas, and just plain making fun of it without really introducing anything else to show younger audiences that they aren’t just jokes, that they were also something really amazing and stood for something great in a time when our cartoons in the west were being taken away from us. Really great original ideas came out of the 70s and 80s for cartoons. Brilliant time period. Not too much lgbt stuff sadly but people forget that a lot of these cartoons actually featired racial diversity in a time when primetime live action television was still struggling with didmantling it.

The new white nationalist pandering HBO Max didn’t cancel it huh? Guess it must have a mostly white cast and no LGBTQ characters.

This isnt news lol. Its def not Wow news.
Also they already basically confirmed 3-4 seasons. Itll take them at least that, even with the time jump.
Rhaenys is a child in ep: 1 and the vast majority of the war is between her child and Alicents so there is a ton of material to cover still. Theyve got 3 seasons of material even without milking it as Hbo will inevitably do

Its based off Fire and Boood a prequel he wrote in 2017(?). And given that its GRRM Im sure hes all over production (instead of writing the books hes been procrastinating for 10 freaking years…)

Hot take: GoT was never “good.”

It got buzz because it was subversive. It shocked us with its willingness to dispose of main characters in brutal ways and hold our attention with its “intimate” scenes. And we tuned in every week out of morbid fascination because there was simply nothing else like it on television.

But at its core, it was always a pointless series of evil people doing evil things and stupid people doing stupid things without much of a direction for the plot. And the political intrigue angle for which the show got so much of its credit for became exhausting even before we got to the “bad” seasons.

Even the books’ author is exhausted with his own story. That’s why he can’t be bothered to finish the darn things, but his ego is big enough that he’s more than happy to take the paychecks that come from your involvement in a world that never be more than half-baked. Because rather than put the effort in to conclude a story he set up decades ago, he’s now dedicating all his time to going backwards.

I really want to understand GoT fans, I really do. But it just feels like they’re caught up in the world of a snake oil salesman who’s bored with the very concept of writing.

Wasn’t my reaction at all.

Oh, I didn’t know that. I’ll have to check this out.

Better then LOTR Ring of power. RoP is going be hot garbage.

Yea… Exactly lol. This is such a nonsense statement… A TV show’s ability to enthrall and keep the audience engaged through an unpredictable and subversive plot is one of the hallmarks of a good TV show.

Its like saying “people only like X’s restaurant because the food tastes amazing…” Thats… kind of one of the big measures of a “good” restaurant…

And not for nothing it also won like a dozen Emmy’s

What you’re describing is also applicable to people who sit through an 80’s slasher film because they like the adrenaline of the jump scares. That doesn’t make the film well written. “Subversion” isn’t an inherently good quality.

Season 8 killed any enthusiasm fans had for GoT as a whole. Even the “good” seasons. This is unprecedented in the film/tv industry. Not even Disney’s Star Wars could touch the enthusiasm fans had for the OT and prequels.

Why was this? Because once you stripped away the shocking deaths and mature scenes, GoT was all build up and absolutely no payoff. The mystique of the white walkers, three eyed raven, and the Targaryen/Lannister prophecies? All gone. The political maneuverings we spent years following ultimately amounted to a ball of nonsense.

The reason those old scenes are painful to watch now is because they’ve always just been perpetual build-up designed to string us along. But without a satisfying ending, there’s virtually no meat to those scenes now. The “shocks” have long since worn off. So what’s left for us to enjoy?

Then why play WoW? A setting similar and inspired by GoT and LotR?

That’s all just pure speculation on your part rofl… Did you do a survey of the entire world? Of course not… you’re just wholesale making stuff up.

Dominos Effect(how one death causes a shocking swerve that changes the entire game) aside the matter of Philosophy has always been Game of Thrones’ most interesting matter.

Now many people have debated the Question given by Varys and most of them deemed that the King lives while the Priest and Rich Man dies on the grounds that the King can make them a Priest and give the Rich Man’s Riches to them as a reward.

Ah yes… the Kings had the power back then(despite Game of Thrones making it look like the Iron Bank had power)… If only we had a King to make the Rich Men do what we want…

A King that could at a whim seize all the Rich Men’s wealth in an instant, slam them to the floor, drag them by the collar to a loyal Governor and force them to obey!

Regressives want Wealth and an Absolute King yet an Absolute King by definition is a threat to the Regressives’ Wealth and his Laws are decided by his own whims.

Absolute Dictators got rid of their Wealthy Rivals by making them fall out windows no matter how Rich they are. Wealth is useless against an Absolute Dictator.

Unfortunately most Absolute Dictators are unimaginative hacks who lack the interest in Fiction to shape them according to their whims only interested in the News, Adult Content and nothing else.

Of course Fantasy wasn’t very notable to these Dictators so them shaping the World to get good Fantasy will only happen after those who grew up on Fantasy Films take over.

Have you watched Better Call Saul?
