Truthfully, I’m fairly patient with this sort of thing, but recently it has been just about every time I Q for an LFR I end up having to wait 45 minutes to 75 minutes just to get two raid bosses done. This is getting to be rather annoying as I’m not going to be able to raid on characters I’m trying to bring up without being carried instead of going the legitimate route of Dungeon/Heroic D/Raid Finder/etc.
I’m asking, I suppose, if anyone else is having this issue or if there is anything (outside of creating a tank/healing character) that can be done?
Not sure how Moon Guard is supposed to help.
DPS wait times have always been pretty crazy, ever since the start of LFR/LFG.
Your best bet would be to ask trade chat or your friends to group up with you. Bring an entire group, or bring a tank/healer to lower the wait times.

Queue for everything at once when you log on and go start doing your World Quest farm. After 1 pops, it’s a fast and nearly constant roll through all of your LFRs. If you miss a boss due to it being dead, just re-queue the second you get a breath.
Your timer continues on the other raids as you do your raids, so you will be able to do the whole thing in one or two sittings, depending on your schedule. Maybe three at max. There aren’t many raids and they are all pretty fast.

DPS wait time is always particularly awful, if you can manage to get someone to queue as a healer or a tank (or both if you can get that group together) the wait time will dip.
Only other thing I can think of would be to wait till you can be awake/active when the times would be lower for DPS
