There is a counter. It’s called PvE.
Play with friends and then it’s not an issue, if you want a “balanced” single player game then go back to rEtAiL. Sounds like you got rekT
I enjoy PvP throughly. On retail my main is highly ranked in arena. What I don’t like is getting abused by a rag doll by broken mechanics

I don’t understand why everyone is so hardheaded about any type of change. There is things that were broken then and are still broken now. Quality of life changes can and would significantly improve the quality of the game. Turning it from an A to an A+
